Wild thing about this #smallweb and #mastdodon in particular is that it gets smaller for me by accident, because people go dormant and I end up with this mix of folks that differs from the initial set of people I start with.
A cool organic community of sorts.
Yeah, person1 hacks on reverse engineering tooling over in that shop, and upstairs is person2 that paints beautiful watercolor flowers.
I'm working on my #guitar, #phish stuff, making art [soon], and #malware.
It's pretty cool.

@markus_netzpolitik Es ist schade dass das freie #Fediverse mit seinen vielen Möglichkeiten stets im Hintergrund bleibt. Ja, viele sehen #Mastdodon als die Plattform zum Einstieg, doch schaut man etwas genauer hin, eröffnet sich einem ein riesiges Netzwerk für Bilder, Videos, Texte und vieles mehr. Selbst ich finde immer wieder was neues und mal ehrlich: den Betreibern der Instanzen lässt man dann gerne einen Taler für die Mühe da. -

@raumfahrttutnot Das ist gut so. Allerdings findet sich weder auf #Mastdodon noch auf #Bluesky ein Account, nur zwei Ländervereinigungen. Ansonsten Bots denen niemand folgt und von X (Twitter) stammen. Die zu löschen wäre zumindest der erste Schritt gewesen.

@sofasophia Das #Fediverse mit seinen #Microblogging Diensten wie #Mastdodon, #Friendica oder #Hubzilla sind nicht auf Reichweite wie man es vom blauen Vogel 🐦 oder Facebook her kannte ausgelegt. Hier geht es um echte #Kommunikation untereinander und dann kommen Likes und Reichweite von alleine. Doch es bedeutet Arbeit, da hilft kein #Algorithmus, sowas gib,gibt es hier nicht. -

Mit Mastodon und dem Fediverse haben Sie eine gute Wahl getroffen, da es noch mehr Möglichkeiten gibt und alle zusammen das sogenannte Fediverse ausmachen. Probieren Sie es aus und entscheiden dann was das beste ist.

Why would you need 5000 characters in a #mastdodon post?
I use lemmy (formerly used re**id) for long tech support posts or complex thoughts or questions.
The fun thing with the short posts is you need to shorten your thoughts and let others talk, good practice for me.
Whats cool about long posts except the obvious „can talk longer, more complex ideas/questions“?

#Fediverse ist nicht nur #Mastdodon. Das was du suchst ist bei #Misskey und als Fork #Calckey über Antennen (NewsPicker) machbar. Antennen funktionieren auch über Volltextsuche. Einziger Minuspunkt wenn man nach "Katze" sucht, finde er auch TagDer-Katze und Katze-n. Man kann dann wiederum über Ausschluss rausfiltern. Calckey wird derzeit viel weiter entwickelt. Vielleicht kommt dann noch eine Möglichkeit mit Anführungszeichen nur noch "Katze" zu suchen.

ugh... I'd noticed the change in behavior for following links to posts and profiles *within* the web app on #Mastdodon 4, but I hadn't looked to see that the *actual* post and profile web pages do not actually contain the post or profile content, just JavaScript and the metadata to load it.
