@scottjenson I switched to #Pachli where quoting works already.

Main reason I switched was because #Tusky doesn't remember reading position in timelines in a reliable way.

@AliveDevil @DJGummikuh it's not a perfect solution, but some clients (e.g. #pachli) process Markdown in posts. So you can use Markdown formatting like **this** or `this` and some fraction of your followers will see the richly formatted version, and the ones that don't use those clients will see the Markdown, which is still pretty intelligible.

Like I say, not perfect, but if you're unwilling to switch server software it's probably the best approach.

Kaum brauche ich mal ein paar Minuten, um ein Post zu schreiben, taucht auch schon der Balken zum Nachladen verpasster Meldungen in der Timeline auf, obwohl es keine gibt. Dieses Verhalten fabrizieren alle #Android Apps, außer #Pachli, das leider nicht mehr unter Android9 funktioniert. Mich nervt dieser unbefugte Eingriff mächtig. Nein, aus Protest und Prinzip nutze ich das nicht. Es sind die App Entwickler, die entschieden haben, dass mir deshalb vieles entgeht. Interessiert die nur einen Sch… 🤬

Soooo. Ich versuche nun mal von #Fedilab, dass mir eigentlich sehr ans Herz gewachsen ist, auf einen minimalistischen client wie #Pachli zu wechseln

A few days ago, I installed the #Pachli update. Since then, I've seen slow responses from my #Mastodon server. Today, I got a 503 error when I tried to boost a post. I'm trying to determine whether these things are coincidence.

This release introduces support for notifications about #collections, improves compatibility with #iceshrimpdotnet servers (by @c, their first contribution to Pachli), fixes a crash, and ensures follower/following relationships are updated if you block a server.

Ich hatte die letzten Wochen kein Topic registriert, nachdem auf den #Pachli Code verwiesen wurde, habe ich das einfach mal installiert und nun klappt UP.

@c just contributed some changes to #pachli that update the set of supported features (https://github.com/pachli/pachli-android/pull/2387) if your account is on a server running #iceshrimpdotnet.

You can now quote, schedule posts, use supported search operators, and create filters.

These changes are in Pachli Current now, and will be in the regular Pachli release at the end of this month.

The Mastodon app is very basic. I use it only as a backup.

I'm currently trying out Pachli and it seems that it will become my new main Mastodon client on Android. The interface is very clean and it works great. What I like is that I can customize the fonts and that they offer Atkinson Hyperlegible, which is a very good font in terms of readability.

@timsk On #pachli I can usually see why a post is visible in my timeline. Most of the time it's a hashtag I forgot I'm following.

Über Monate habe ich gehofft, dass irgend ein Update die #Mastodon App #Pachli wieder repariert. Leider vergebens. Auch Neuinstallationen halfen nicht. So habe ich jetzt eingesehen, dass #Android9 nicht mehr kompatibel damit ist und sie deinstalliert. Schade, aber nützt nichts. Bei einem neuen Gerät kommt sie wieder zum Einsatz.

Quick update on the #collections support that's coming in #Pachli.

Here's two collection notifications. The first one is hidden (in this case, I hid it, but it may also have been marked sensitive) and blurred like sensitive attachments.

The background colour is to distinguish collections from quotes and link previews.

The visibility of the collection is always shown.

Still iterating on design and accessibility features, but the first Pachli Current with this should be out soon.

If you're going to use the new Mastodon #Collections feature there are a few things you should know before you consent for your account to be included in a collection.

@apps are you periodically pruning the cache with a worker?

That's unreliable, for the same reason scheduled boosts aren't reliable.

No me gusta de #Pachli que tengo que darle mil veces a la casita y aún así no me sube al inicio de la Tl. En #tusky subir era más rápido y sencillo
Edit: me comentan abajo que hay una opción para cambiar ese comportamiento. Lo he probado y ya va cómo me gusta ^^

I guess the only thing missing in #pachli from Tusky is the ability to mute someone for 180 days.
