Arriving in Bequia
A ferry crossing, a stranger who turned out to be family, roads with no signs, and a terrace above the sea — the first day in Bequia was a long one.#magnificentfrigatebird — Public Fediverse posts

Galapagos Islands Wildlife (Play Visions)Review and images by Birdsage; edited by bmathison1972
While HMS Beagle’s famed second voyage in the 1830s visited far more than the Galápagos Islands—from Cabo Verde (where Charles Darwin’s geological revelations convinced him of Lyellian uniformitarianism) to Argentina (where Darwin came upon the type specimens of Glyptodon and Toxodon) and from Australia (where he noted many examples […]

The Last Morning Under the Flamboyant Tree
Our last morning in Bequia unfolded like any other — doves in the grass, the mockingbird in the flamboyant, and Patches climbing the steps for her eggs.

Prehistoric
This is a magnificent frigatebird (Fregata magnificens), likely a first-year juvenile, identifiable by its white head and breast. I just realized—I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an adult. I’ll have to go back through my photos and take a closer look.

I had a #MagnificentFrigatebird just hovering above me in the wind for a good 2-3 minutes. Of course I was in the pool and didn't have my camera

Sky Navigator
This is a magnificent frigatebird (Fregata magnificens). I took this photo from a great distance at the port of a Caribbean island, likely Roatan, Honduras.

Glide of the Frigate
Here is a magnificent frigatebird (Fregata magnificens) that I saw last year.
"Beachgoers delight in this large, black pterodactyl-like bird that soars effortlessly on tropical breezes with hardly a flap, using its deeply forked tail to steer. Watching a Magnificent Frigatebird float in the air truly is, as the name implies, magnificent. These master aerialists are also pirates of the sky, stealing food from other birds in midair. Males have a bright red pouch on the throat, which they inflate like a balloon to attract females. Females unlike most other seabirds look different than males with their white chest." - allaboutbirds.org

Look Down
I was looking through some photos that I have of magnificent frigatebirds (Fregata magnificens) and noticed this one. It's not a great photo but what is the bird doing? Is it scratching itself while flying, or looking down at something?
You know, the photographs that I post here are not quite a vivid as the same photographs that I post at my pixel's gallery, because here, I reduce the size of the photos and usually make a slight reduction in the quality of the photos to make them easier to load.
Take a look:

Awesome looking bird.
This is a Magnificent Frigatebird (Fregata magnificens), I forget where I took this picture, but it was during a Caribbean cruise. It was either Roatan, Honduras or Costa Maya., Mexico. I could nail it down, but that would mean trying to make my brain work this morning.
"The frigatebird is sometimes called the "man-o-war bird" because it harasses other birds until they regurgitate recently captured food, which the frigatebird snatches in midair." - allaboutbirds.org

This is another magnificent frigatebird (Fregaya magnificens), I posted a picture of one coming out of Gaveston last week. This one was over the water at Costa Maya, Mexico. There were several flying around, circling over the bay. I got a lot of pics, so you can look for me to post more in the coming months.
