Never used it myself, but I can recommend this website for self-learning the basics of Linux: https://linuxjourney.com/
I can also try my best to answer any questions anyone may have about Linux.
As an aside, I'd recommend Linux Mint for beginners due to its resemblance to Windows and ease of use with many built-in graphical tools. ZorinOS is also another one with an optional premium version.
For new users, unless they're more used to a MacOS-style interface, I'd actually advise to keep away from #GNOME as its interface will be confusing to (former) Windows users.

https://zorin.com/os/This blog post by ZorinOS may also be of some help: https://blog.zorin.com/2025/05/28/windows-10-is-reaching-its-end-of-life/
Feel free to DM me if you want any clarification or understanding, or just reply to this comment.
For those that are slightly savvy, I'd recommend the Debian Handbook. It definitely requires some knowledge and there are some debian-specific components of it, but it helps with a general understanding of how Linux itself works:
https://debian-handbook.info/browse/stable/#Boost for visibility.

Gave my reliable ThinkPad X240 a fantastic upgrade! ✨ Just installed Zorin OS 17.1 Core.
This OS is perfect for breathing new life into older hardware like the X240 – fast, stable, and incredibly user-friendly if you're coming from Windows or macOS.
Check out my guide/video on how to install it! 👇 [https://youtu.be/7TJV8Z6Pfbs]

@skua I should say as well, if you or anyone else who is "not so endowed" are considering trying out #linux, but are confused or scared of the potential consequences, my DMs are always open and I'd be more than happy to help anyone who wants to try the switch but doesn't know where to start. Linux is fundamentally built on #community, and only through people helping people do we thrive.

Also nichts Weltbewegendes. Vielleicht auch erst eine virtuelle Geschichte, lokal. Keine Ahnung wie das klappt, habe auch bisher nicht gegoogelt.

Using #EndevourOS (which is Basically Arch) with X11 and KDE Plasma. I guess "Dolphin" is my Filke Explorer? (not 100% sure) but if i graphycally copy files from one folder to the other, is there a way of a little more detailed "copy window" Maybe more like the Windows one or even a bit better? Showing me Data rates and the Files that is copyied in that moment?i know i can do that via Comand line but i don't always want to do that.
