Using Linux isn't about being a privacy lover, hardening every app, using free software only, and learning about programming and stuff.

It's about owning the hardware you paid for, it doesn't matter if you'll watch YouTube and use other Google or Meta apps on it. At least you will be able to choose.

That said, I do love privacy, harden apps, use free (or at least open source) software mostly and yes, I'm a developer. Haha 😂

Dear Linux newbie, remember:

- It doesn't really matter what distro you install as long as it runs the software you really use
- There's no better distro, all are just different approaches (and most are actually forks)
- Whatever aesthetic feature (like a desktop environment, apps) you're basing decisions on, you can change it or tweak it later anyway
- Customizing stuff isn't mandatory, you can go with the defaults and still be a chad, chill
- Learn some Bash, watch some tutorials, try it on a VM. Don't just blame the OS every time

And remember: there's nothing wrong with asking for help or learning stuff. At least you don't need to pay for a subscription 🤷🏻‍♀

Recebi uma notificação do Waydroid avisando sobre uma atualização do sistema. Legal! Coloquei para baixar e instalar. Aparentemente, deve ser uma atualização de correções de bugs. Acho que uma nova versão do Android ainda deve demorar para chegar. O Waydroid está na versão 11 do Android.

Instalei o Waydroid no Fedora direto do repositório. Bem mais simples que no Debian/Ubuntu. É só adicionar os OTAs e baixar a imagem do Android. Muitos jogos não são compatíveis, mas baixei o Asphalt Legends Unite. Vamos ver se roda!

Removi o Linux Mint do SSD de 256 GB e agora estou instalando o Fedora 42 no meu laptop principal. Nele, pretendo instalar o Waydroid e espero gravar alguns vídeos mostrando jogos de Android rodando no Fedora. Em breve, também farei um vídeo ensinando como instalar o Fedora.

As a #LinuxUser I feel obligated to now find out if old iPads can be made to run Linux.

People say Linux can replace Windows but they don't tell you about everything that comes with being a Linux user. 😮‍💨

Edit: Looks like at least some older #iPad/s will run #Linux.

So now I'm trained up to say,
"Install Linux on your old iPad and keep watching Netflix and chillin'".

Though it might actually be beyond many folks' skill level. Any low-skill-level folk tried this?
