Ah, I can answer 2 of those questions.
The insects reeing in the background are cicadas and they can get insanely loud! I noticed them constantly in #MyIDIsGangnamBeauty
Yes, King Sejong invented the #hangul alphabet. Prior to its introduction in 1433, writing was done in the Chinese style. His lovely statue in Seoul is very eye-catching. The need to learn more culture has driven me to learn a lot of language over the last 6 months. #korean #kdrama #LangaugeLearning -
People who are learning another language: how many of you have changed the language of your phone to your target tongue? I did this a few months ago, and it's been enormously helpful for both passive and active #LangaugeLearning. Interesting to note that when I press like on someone's DM, they get the notification in the language of my phone, not theirs! #french #english #language

Welp, my paid sub to #Duolingo finally ended today. Not resubscribing after their hatchet job on the site. Not being able to easily go back and retake lessons, or focus on just one topic at a time, has meant it's 'game over' for me

A random #German phrase I came across today that made me chuckle:
Unsere Küche ist groß und hell!
:blobcatscared:It doesn't just sound negative but absolutely awful. But the translation is actually really positive....
Our kitchen is big and bright!

Anyone else read books in other languages to help them learn more?
My hubby does & he thinks I’m ready to try reading a real book in Spanish.
It might take me a year, but going to try. Any recommendations for good books written in Spanish that don’t have crazy made up words (e.g., not looking for a Harry Potter type thing) that might be a good read for a novice Spanish speaker? #spanish #learningspanish #books #spanishbooks #LangaugeLearning
