I took a few weeks off reading my easy German readers and watching shows in German. Still listened to quite a bit of German music, though.

Getting back to it, I just finished up Ahoi aus Hamburg by @andreklein / @learnoutlive and a word that really stuck out with me was "schickimicki". The funny part is, when I started rewatching Kleo on Netflix an hour later, I heard one of the main characters use that word in a sentence! Like instant reinforcement!

Lately I've been watching/listening to a lot of content about #ComprehensibleInput regarding #LanguageAcquisition . What's been tripping me up is that most content creators say the Goldilocks range is knowing 95-98% of the words and then a few minutes later they say that you should only be highlighting unknown words once every page or two. If each page has 250-750 words and 2-5% of words on the page are unknown, the MATH says 4-40 words on each page are unknown.

I'm just starting in Japanese and am upfront to the possible tutor that I'm a beginner but I'm getting lots of pushback and expectation of a level of conversation - even before a trial lesson. #languages #preply #japaneselanguage

Upon finishing #Ajin (the #anime although I’m definitely going to want to read the manga after this!) I noticed there’s this one line that’s been used in every episode and that I can’t get out of my head now, because my brain feels it’s going to be useful for my #japanese #language #learning process:

@jeremyjackson Hi! #Duolingo is one of my resources. I've dabbled in a bunch of languages. Currently, I'm not learning anything yet. But I'm considering picking up Japanese, Korean, or Persian again. Aside from Duolingo, I use #Pleco (an English-Chinese dictionary). For #Korean, I used Go Billy Korean's Youtube videos.

That said, if you want to look for fellow people interested in #LanguageLearning, try looking in #langtwt and #langtoot. There are a bunch of language learners there.
