  7. On June 21, K'ómoks First Nation will be presenting National Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations at the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds from 2 pm until 9 pm.

Since I moved to the traditional territory of the K'ómoks First Nation in 2014, I have never missed this annual event, I have learnt a lot about the culture and history and to be honest I also go for the delicious traditional food.

  9. #Komoks #FirstNation has released a statement #denouncing a performance by the #controversial group #DangerCats scheduled for Thurs, May 30, at an undisclosed location in #Comox.

  12. Winter on K'omoks land, also known as the Comox Valley. Taken a few years ago with an old camera. The sun was rising over the mountains and the light was just perfect. The magic moment lasted only a few minutes.

Enjoy your day, no matter your plans.

  13. Photo taken last week in Seal Bay Park.

The Park ''lies within the unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation and contains many cultural and natural values meaningful to generations of K’ómoks families. Indigenous people historically visited the bay and forests to collect supplies and to camp during canoe trips. They refer to these lands as Xwee Xwhya Luq, meaning “a place that has beauty, beauty that is not only seen but also felt.”
