Drop Tower EVAC at Kings Dominion today.

@93maddie94
How'd you like the ride? I thought it was pretty good but could have been a lot better if the on-ride theming matched the queue theming. -
This past year I picked up two new Nanocoasters, and this holiday weekend I finally got around to assembling them. Another Intamin and another B&M to add to my collection of favorites.
Both companies take very different approaches to coaster design, but they both manage to deliver the most memorable and most aesthetically pleasing rides for me.

Grizzly is a wooden roller coaster at Kings Dominion that opened to the public in 1982. The ride was built in house by the Taft Attractions group and is a redesign of the legendary Wildcat at Coney Island.
Grizzly was designed to compliment Beast at Kings Island, another property owned by Taft Broadcasting at the time. While not as universally loved, Grizzly still packs a punch today.

Had an awesome long weekend away riding great coasters at #KingsDominion and #BuschGardens Williamsburg!
I was so happy to finally get on #Pantheon after originally planning to ride it in 2020, though it was having some operational issues that took the shine off of it a bit.
#Intimidator305 was also an amazing experience, so intense! My wife was completely unconscious for most of her first ride, but managed to survive the second ride 😅

My wife and I planned a trip to #KingsDominion and #BuschGardens for next month, and since then we've found out that it will be the opening weekend for #DarKoaster as well as that #Intimidator305 will be back open following extended maintenance!
So nice when things work out :)

King Kobra was the legendary Schwarzkopf shuttle loop that operated at @KingsDominionVA from 1977 to 1986.
If you miss riding this, no worries, it's still operating. After leaving KD it had a short stay in OCMD before heading to @altontowers where it operated as Thunderlooper until 1996. Since 1999, though, it's been making daily appearances at Hopi Hari Park in Brazil, operating now as Katapul.

Does anyone else miss Hypersonic XLC at @KingsDominionVA or am I the only one?
Hypersonic XLC was a Thrust Air Coaster designed by S&S Sansei Technologies. It operated from 2001 to 2007. As a prototype coaster it was a bit ahead of its time, which led to a lot of problems and breakdowns.

Another day, another #25DaysOfCoasters
22. Volcano - @KingsDominionVA
Another coaster that is near and dear to my heart. My first launch coaster that I rode in 2003. I was instantly hooked on the idea of launch starts, and still seek them out everywhere. It was heartbreaking to see this one torn down.
