Im November besuchte uns Prof. Dr. Stefan Katzenbeisser als Gast in der Forschungsgruppe #SECUSO! Katzenbeisser ist Professor an der Universität Passau und Mitbegründer der INCYDE GmbH, die sich auf die #Sicherheit im #Schienenverkehr spezialisiert hat. Vor dieser Berufung hatte er eine Professur an der TU Darmstadt und war Senior #Scientist bei Philips Research in Eindhoven. Anlass des Besuchs war die Einladung zur #KASTEL Distinguished #Lecture, wo er einen Vortrag zum Thema "Securing the Critical #Transportation #Infrastructure - Challenges and Solutions" hielt.

On November 5, as part of the #KASTEL Distinguished Lecture Series at KIT Graduate School Cyber Security, Gianluca Stringhini (Professor at Boston University) discussed strategies to improve moderation of false information and influence campaigns on social media. He presented impressing examples of false information, highlighted insufficient countermeasures, and shared his research groups work on automated tools to detect false content and inauthentic accounts. Programs as Mechanical Works of Art
“Code Beautiful Like a Clock” was on display at ZKM as part of the opening event “Art, Summer, Technology” on July 11, 2025. The installation revealed the hidden beauty of code. Created by Prof. Dr. Müller-Quade and Dr. Mechler (#KASTEL SRL), the interactive piece visualized program execution like clockwork. Visitors could adjust the processing speed to watch code, commands, and digital patterns unfold—making the invisible visible.
