Just yesterday, I got an article on my news feed about Peruvian protesters killing a cop. I hadn't seen an article on Peru since the new year.

Imagine my surprise when I dug even a little deeper and found that two days prior, cops in Peru had killed 17 people and wounded over 100 more. Wonder why that didn't make my feed?

Update: 17 protesters killed in #Juliaca and 73 injured on January 9. Peruvian regime killed 42 protesters, so far, since the coup of state.

According to the Peruvian journalist @jfowks, 12 protesters were killed yesterday as a result of repression by regime security forces in the town of #Juliaca, an indigenous Aymara town.
