@germ my first thought was: at least you (and a lot of us) have the luxury of being able to do this at our own pace rather than waking up one day to find our accounts banned or something!
I deleted my #Facebook when #CambridgeAnalytica broke and never got onto the others, but I do have a #Google account that I'm hanging on to for the two #Hangouts (or whatever it's called now) contacts who don't check anywhere else...😕

Adolfos oozes with quaintness in an unassuming little place in #NewOrleans. Somehow, they fit 40 tables in this upstairs restaurant. The food is amazing and the #eggplant Parmesan was bigger than my car.

Is it possible to use OBS (Open Broadcasting Software) to replicate a Google Hangouts type experience?
I'm an OBS novice. From what I can tell the answer is "sorta", but more of a static multi-person stream and less where folks dynamically come and go.
What would it take to extend OBS to function as a Hangouts analog for, say, up to 16 people. Could this be done as a plugin / extension, or would it require changes in the core source code?

If you were a Google Hangouts user, note you only have until January 1 to create an archive of your Hangouts data.

#post recently added #mastodon to its social media links on user profiles. Even though I really like the design at Post I prefer the #Fediverse for multiple reasons. Still I kinda wish #Google would buy Post - and sticks to it (or bring back #Hangouts).

@mvexel @brewsterkahle Thanks for the boost, Martijn! I'm huge fan of #OpenStreetMap and the work you've done on #MapRoulette. I could swear we did a story on it years ago when I was working on #TWiT, but I can't find any record of it.
You and the folks at OpenStreetMap.org need volunteers, too! If anyone here loves #OpenSource projects and wants a fun challenge, they should go to maproulette.org and help add places and fix data in Open Street Map. They need people to add details about everything from highways in #SaudiArabia to #museums in #France and barbershops in the #BayArea.
We've all learned a lesson this past month about how crucial it is to have open source backups to the corporate services we depend on. There's nothing keeping #Google from sending #Maps to the #GoogleGraveyard like #Reader, #Hangouts, and all the useful editing tools that Maps used to have. I'm going to try switching to Open Street Maps, and maybe even track down some US museums websites for you!

I sent that 1000! picture to a friend on #Hangouts (which #Google hasn't shut down... yet), and my friend commented on the large number of 0s at the end of the value.
I assured him that that's what happens with #factorials - by 5! you've got 2*5 as a subexpression, and by 10! you've got another factor of 10, well, right there. 15 brings in another factor of 5, and by that point, you've got a backlog of 2s. 25! has six trailing zeroes, with two factors of 5 right there.
That's #math for you.
