最后我唯一找到的是，新浪微博……
是的，新浪微博的私信功能，最初是基于XMPP构建的……所以，你可以使用新浪微博的账号、在支持XMPP的IM软件上登录，以#即时通讯 的方式与互关用户私信……

当然，这种用法一是不稳定（印象里sina的服务器很快就会拒绝访问，要在IM软件里重新登陆）；二是sina没多久就重构了私信功能，彻底取消了XMPP的连接功能

XMPP的失败有太多原因了，但它始终没有走出#技术狂热者(#TechSavvy）所组成的#早期试用者（#Earlyadopter）阶段是核心原因。

They host federated communication platform based on an open standard (email), giving users accounts (Apple IDs), and make desktop and mobile clients (Mail.app).

iChat was _so_ much nicer then AIM clients.

Messages.app is an amazing communication app and was so far ahead of any SMS client on phones before it.

For any other long-time #Mac users with ancient backups out there, I recently discovered that #Apple changed the format used by iChat for its conversation logs somewhere around 2004. Anything from before that are no longer readable using Messages (the new iChat replacement). It doesn't read the proprietary NeXTSTEP serialization format they used prior to switching to PLISTs.

Using some libraries from Github, I wrote a converter in #Python:

Spent some time working on the #iChat logfile parser today. Works on about 50-60% of my files, meaning there's still a lot of weird cases to deal with.
