  1. Why is “For oral use” printed in scare quotes!?

  2. @anne @cobalt123 @TheEddieShow Fabulous Tree! Spiral grain is spectacular.

    Would make a great #ThickTrunkTuesday

Though, might the pedantic pruner conclude that while trimming is not authorised, pruning is permitted? #Punctuation #GrammarFail

  3. I'm reading a document published at the VA and this is the first sentence: "VA provides services to 18.5 million Veterans across a wide range of benefits, including medical care, insurance claims, job support and education, home loans, and manages the National Cemeteries."
This is a heavily edited document that went through many people before it was published, and it was distributed to many people. How did they allow such a glaring grammar error in the first sentence?

  4. Rant: I am unreasonably irritated by this - probably because it's from the side of a large printed packaging box, not (say) a social media post by an unhappy intern. A few people should have signed this off: copywriter, designer and maybe art director at the agency; brand manager and perhaps a packaging category manager at Russell Hobbs. A decent printer might have caught this too. They managed to put the apostrophe in 'let's' in the body copy, though. Bah.

  5. P.S. The misplaced modifier in the email ("As a valued customer, Boston Muffler Brake & Automotive has..." pisses me off almost as much as the violation of our privacy. #grammar #grammarFail #grammarPolice

  6. CW: us elections

I think of you’re running for governor you should at least know that “incompetency” is not a word. Even if you repeat it 3 times. #grammarFail #arizona

  7. CW: grammar pet peeve

"Should've" is short for "should have", not "should of"...
