  1. Anyone know why opening #IPv6 ports on #GoogleWifi might be failing for me? I have IPv6 service from my ISP (sonic.net - they're awesome!) and have a web server set up on my #RaspberryPi.

Requests from outside my network sent to the pi's IPv6 GUA keep failing, even though I have ports 80 and 443 open for the pi in the "Port Management" section of the google home app. Requests made to that same IPv6 GUA work fine within my network.

(I also have IPv4 port forwarding set up on that same page, and that seems to work fine to forward requests made to my router's external IPv4 address to the pi, so I could simply not set up an AAAA record and move forward with only IPv4 access to my server, but I'd prefer having a working dual-stack setup!)

  2. My Google Wifi Pro 6E keeps disconnecting every now and then (~once a week). I am going to see if Costco can take it back, but I’d like to hear thoughts on what everyone likes these days as a 6E mesh system.

  3. I really wish the wifi section of #GoogleHome app gets some love. The design is meh and some features like grouping devices, searching by mac or IP address, hiding random guest devices which connected at some point, etc. would be welcome. #smarthome #nest #nestwifi #googlewifi #meshrouter

  4. Bye , bye #GoogleWifi , hello Pfsense. I am not a fan of Tp-Link ties with the Chinese government, but at least I can disable the routing mode and put a firewall behind it. #pfsense, #HomeNetwork, #infosec

  5. #openwrt is really really cool. It is now more than I week I'm using it @home and I will never get back to the #googlewifi stock firmware. I love having control over what is happening @ home.

  6. Really loving what you can do with #openwrt on a #googlewifi. I'm still having some problem skipping vpn for Netflix... But I tested lot of interesting stuff. The final configuration is: only selected wifi devices are sent throught the VPN (which is activated all the time). It is only related to performances... But you can forward all your traffic. Your privacy first of all !

  7. Another very cool stuff about the #googlewifi custom firmware: now I can force a VPN for the whole local network!! Speed is not that good, but in case at least you can be secured

  8. Finally, I finished configuring my #googlewifi devices with #openwrt. It was quite hard to figure out all the low-level network configurations. But everything works now with good performances... and the good side effect if I got full control of devices.

  9. I spent lot of hours yesterday to configure the #googlewifi router and AP with #openwrt. Not finished yet, but it promising compared to the very poor functionalities proposed by the Google original firmware. You must be a network architect to know how to configure everything 😵 But this guy youtube channel is incredible youtube.com/c/OneMarcFifty (and not only for OpenWRT)

  10. Just had to connect my 2015 #nvidiashield TV box to my TV because the #googletv won’t connect to the #googlewifi..

7 years later the Nvidia turned on got an update from November this year and played media.. no stuttering or cutting.

This is how you build and support hardware, this has to be a lobour of love for a team at Nvidia.. I’d buy this new today

Only thing is I’ve lost the remote, so I’m using the Android app to control it.
