Seguramente habéis visto unas plumas que tienen la punta torcida y quizás el que no las conozca se pregunte si es que se cayeron al suelo y se torció el plumín o qué les ha pasado. El caso es que se trata de un tipo de plumín especial denominado "Fude".
Las plumas Sailor "Fude DE Mannen" son plumas estilográficas con esa punta especial que permite escribir fácilmente caracteres que parecen escritos con un pincel.En principio su uso era para caligrafía japonesa o china, pero su utilidad para el dibujo las ha popularizado en todo el mundo.
El grosor del trazo varía en función de la inclinación de la pluma sobre el papel y no solo puede hacer trazos de un grosor constante sino que con algo de habilidad se puede hacer variar el grosor del trazo mientras se dibuja, lo que confiere una gran belleza a las lineas e infunde personalidad al dibujo.
Cuando sostienes el bolígrafo en posición vertical, puedes escribir líneas finas, y cuando lo inclinas, puedes escribir líneas gruesas. Si le das la vuelta puedes escribir trazos realmente muy finos.
El modelo verde lleva un plumín con una inclinación de 55º y es el que más me gusta para dibujar. El modelo azul oscuro lleva un plumín con una inclinación de 40º y a mi me resulta más útil para escribir que para dibujar. No obstante, es probable que esto dependa de la forma en que cada uno sostiene la pluma. Hay más colores; rosa, marrón y blanco, que llevan también plumines de 40º
Aunque son bastante grandes (Ø 15.0×169mm) y dan problemas para ponerlas en los alojamientos (cajas, estuches) con otras plumas, no son incómodas en la mano, pero sin duda yo prefiero la más manejable y elegante (aunque más cara) Sailor Profit.
El nombre "Fude de Mannen" proviene de las palabras japonesas Fude (筆ペン), que significa pluma de pincel, y Mannen (万年筆), que significa pluma fuente, pero también puede sonar como "esta es una pluma de pincel" en ciertos acentos regionales.

I just read a website's privacy policy prior to making a purchase, and discovered that they quite openly state that they will share or sell my personal information (including contact details) with other businesses for advertizing purposes, and that those unnamed businesses will use said personal information in accordance with their own privacy policies, whatever those may happen to be.

I have emailed the business I actually want to buy from, and asked if an offline transaction is possible, as otherwise, I will be taking my custom elsewhere.

Easier said than done, however, as I am not aware of any other NZ retailer selling a fude nibbed dip pen - or any fude nibbed pen at all, if it comes to that, actual brush tips aside.

Inked up my bent /fude nib Sailor Profit pen with the waterproof Octopus Write & Draw black elephant ink, with some quick watercolours over top. Ink is flowing nicely, and if my other pens are any indication not expecting it to slow down soon, so looks promising to me!

I had tried some other waterproof inks before, but they were either cloggy in this one (Carbon Black) or not terribly waterproof when brushed over during watercolours (Noodlers, Sailor)

Finally had some time to do some more #fountainpen #sketching ! I'm using my favorite Jinhao 159 with a #fude nib using Pilot Iroshizuku Ku-Jaku #ink . #Kitties always look so #cute all dressed up, though I'm sure many hate it!

@ilovefountainpens Exactly: I draw/sketch with fountain pen and water-proof ink first, then apply color.

My first watercolor sketches were the reverse (because I didn't have water-proof ink), but then the paint went all over the place and the outlines didn't match :)

My findings:

– LAMY Safari works great with thicker ink: e.g. SketchInk

– Jinhao and #Sailor #Fude #Nib pens work with thinner ink for longer, e.g. DeAtramentis

- Noodlers ink can clog up pretty quickly :)
