Unfortunately, I had to take the Flixbus home again yesterday evening. 😢 And there were actually a lot more travelers at the Milan Lampugnano bus station, but I still find it hard to draw people.
I actually filled my 14x14 cm #Hahnemühle ZigZag book with urban sketches during our trip. It was so much fun, and the ZigZag book was perfect - the format and the paper. 👍
Next year, I'll continue #hiking the GTA.

When I started my art journey I was really into painting (still am) but I've kinda fallen in love with architectural drawing. So we're off on a new journey that's still kinda the same as the old journey!

This is how far it is now. There'll be the typical ornaments which you know from me on the kimono and more details to come.
The paper is a nice heave textured 200g Hahnemühle Butten aquarell paper, which I use since the huge ink-series from 12 years ago.
nb: yes blurry picture because it was rainy and not much light. :)

Die Smooth Pearl drucke sind schon satt, leuchtend, scharf… den Matten ist Lichteinfall dagegen viel egaler, fassen sich lebendiger an, je nach Struktur erzeugt das Licht mikroschatten die „Tiefe” geben (aber auch stören) können. Ich bin immer hin und her gerissen. Heute bin ich Pro-Matt/FineArt 😄 #fotografie #drucken #papier

My first render on handmade paper!
The idea was the discrepancy between computer generated images and real handmade paper as a juxtaposition.
(for those unfamiliar with the word juxtaposition the deifinition from Collins Dictionary: "The juxtaposition of two contrasting objects, images, or ideas is the fact that they are placed together or described together, so that the differences between them are emphasized.")

Working on paper is really my favorite surface and these experiments open new possibilities. Overlapping conversations. I love when the marker isn’t fully loaded and the rough surface has areas where the ink doesn’t touch and leaves a texture.

anybody around here, who ( #inkjet ) prints their #digitalImages on fine art paper? or ( with #Gesso ) on aquarell paper - i prefer #Hahnemühle, #Fabriano or #Canson (no, i'm no sales agent ...)?
i mix the Gesso DIY (marble or steatite powder, acrylic binder and glue) the water for thinning the sometimes very tough mixture is pretty often from sacred springs or even holy water. (did i mention my #esotericism affection?)
