Last weekend I was with the choir at the Löwenstein conference center for a rehearsal weekend.
I used my two-hour lunch break for #UrbanSketching
The buildings arn't particularly pretty, but they are beautifully situated in an green setting.
I tried to draw a little bit more loosely. The two hours were just enough for the two drawings.

Day 16 #hiking in #Piedmont last summer.
It rained steadily from morning until noon that day. Time to test our rain gear.
Then the sky cleared and we reached Rima and the B&B Taglioferro in beautiful sunshine.After our arrivel we went to a cafe, where we could gradually observe the arrival of other hikers. We chatted with them for a long time, so I didn't get around to drawing #pleinair

It started to rain soon after we reached Carcoforo.
That's why I didn't paint on location but only at home. Again not really #UrbanSketching

Day 14 #hiking in #Piedmont with the day's destination Alpe Baranca.
I urged us to hike quickly again because of the predicted thunderstorms. And this time the thunderstorm came. Fortunately later than predicted. I had plenty of time to paint #pleinair And after that there was still time for a little nap before dinner in the cosy and warm Rifugio.
The third drawing is based on a photograph.

Day 13 #hiking in #Piedmont with the destination Rimella/Chiesa. During this leg of our hike, we saw several smal mountain villages.
By the way, the antipasti at Albergo Fontana were as exceptional as described in the hiking guide.
But nobody mentions that you could gain a lot of weight when hiking in Piedmont because the food everywhere is extremely delicious and plentiful.)

Day 12 #hiking in #Piedmont
The day's destination was Camepplo Monti. A beautiful mountain villagebuilt on a steep slope without a road. There were only wide stairs between the houses.
I found it so impressive that I painted it again at home with #neocolor2 and #watercolorpencil on textured #watercolor paper.

Day 11 #hiking in #Piedmont
We reached Alpe del Lago at midday because I urged us to hike quickly due to the forecast of thunderstorms. It was sunny with a bright blue sky when we arrived in the remote valley. Plenty of time for painting, picking blueberries and bathing in a small mountain stream.
Until evening we had the valley and the well maintained self-catering cabin to ourselves.

Day 9 #Hiking in #Piedmont summer 2025.
The first part of the (guided) hiking tour ended in Pettenasco at lake Orta. It was a short hike, train journay and otherwise a day of relaxation and recreation (and to make the laundry for the next part)
The other painting shows Molini in the Calasca- Castiglione valley. -
My painting from yesterday afternoon.
While I was sitting on my folding chair, acquaintances kept coming by and asking with interest what I was doing. Normally I look for a quiet place for paiting. But that's just village life.

Thank you @Curator and @Yishay for the #DangerousArt workshop! It has left me with a lot to think about and some directions to go in.
I have a daily sketching practice: this is yesterday's of a sculpture near the local art museum. I ponder how this is political. Maintaining a daily practice? Occupying public space to do art? I suspect both of these, and more.

The radiated tortoise is most abundant in Southern Madagascar. It is very long lived, with a recorded lifespan of 188 years. This tortoise is a herbivore, grazing but also enjoying fruit and succulents. Sadly the radiated tortoise is now critically endangered due to habitat loss, poaching for food and the pet trade.
