Twine & Markdown
I'm working on my Fall ACTEM presentation. The presentation is on "Choose Your Own Adventure: Create An Adventure for Your Students". Specifically, how you can create these for students. Or, better yet, how students can create these.
While working in Twine (I wrote about Twine previously), I wrote some things in Markdown. Since Twine doesn't have a "viewer" window, p

Dimensions of AI Literacies: An Introduction
Thanks so much for the presenters for this session. I think that this will be available for replay at Reclaim TV. If you missed the session, you should check it out.

Frayer Model
I've long been a fan of the Frayer Model. This is an easy to use, flexible graphic organizer that can help students understand concepts. It is most commonly used for vocabulary words, but can be extended as well.
The wonderful Alice Keeler posted a hint to create Frayer Models using Google Slides. This then reminded me of a Frayer Models in Moodle. I posted this several y

Teaching can be a tough, joyless job sometimes, but on other days you get a Yr 8 student who reimagines Much Ado by having Disney-style talking cows for characters and calling it "Much A-Moo About Nothing" and you literally cry with laughter #MuchAMoo #Cows #Shakespeare #Education #Teaching #EduGlow @edutooters

I've made it through another half term - a long, dark, difficult - half term. But there's been lots of good stuff too. A student who painted something amazing for me to pass onto an absent colleague. My Yr 11s bringing in props and costumes to film revision material for one of our texts. Fighting for a dyslexia screening, and ultimately a diagnosis, for a Yr 9 boy who didn't understand why school was so tough for him. And now - wine and sleep #EduGlow #Teaching #Education #edutooer @edutooters

Study State:
"Hi, I'm a 17-year old senior in high school with a passion for frontend web development. Out of frustration with Quizlet's high cost, I created StudyState in October 2022 as a free alternative with additional features. I had a lot of fun creating it (especially the AI-powered stuff!), and I hope you enjoy using it!"
Check it out:

Anyone familiar with Kialo-Edu? Interesting site to help students develop debate and critical thinking skills.
Looks like a good privacy policy.

Check out the latest Middle School Matters Podcast episode:
MSM 607 - Rememble This, or Not -
Just realized that Lumi will let you export H5P activities as plain HTML files.
Which means that you can host those just about anywhere (even Google Drive). So, one can use H5P in Google Classroom.
Even better, kids can use Lumi to create activities to share with the class.

Upon playing with Goblin Tools (https://goblin.tools), I think that this could be very useful for students and teachers.
I'll have middle school students using it for themselves. A couple of teachers will be creating model to do lists to share with students.
A couple of elementary teachers are printing and providing to students.

Introduced 7th graders to spreadsheets today. Great time, Lots of work to do.
-
Finished up the AI art class round three. The 8th graders were on target with developing their skills.
I hope Diffusion Bee gets an update over the summer.
-
Finished up the AI art project with the 8th graders today. They have created Chindogu projects (they had to describe it, draw it, and create it using AI Art).
Great class. Great kids.
-
Turns out that if 8th graders ask Diffusion Bee to create things using inappropriate words, it complies.
-
8th grade Art students created an AI image of a student. Then we did a Gallery Walk where students reviewed each other's prompts and images.
Pulled class back together to discuss what they noticed.

My #eduglow moment today was seeing all the staff preparing for tomorrows Quality of Education review by the Trust. Their full commitment to it is admirable.

Really good EHCP reviews. We’ve extended provision for two students as we can work with them more to get them to where they want to be. We’ve showed some really good options to a family who thought they had none for their kid to move on to. We’ve had parents in tears and lots of positive outcomes. It was intense but very good. Now breath.

Parents evening where a parent comes on the screen and says:
"There is one thing I want to say"
"Whats that?"
"Thanks: you've really helped"

Enjoyable first working day of the week. Todays highlight was year 8 maths lesson on dividing by a fraction.
Felt good from my end, and pupil work & voice suggests it was similar for them.

There’s #Friday tired , then there’s #EYFS tired. Small people are absolutely exhausting.
#Eduglow
1. Teaching a severely #ADHD 3 year old how to #Pretend eat.
2. Seeing absolute consistency begin to work its magic #BehaviourManagement
3. Being told you’re doing a good job #Appreciation -
#EduGlow today was showing Y6 how to use flash cards to support learning.
Lots of independent practice identifying quadrilaterals, building on our oracy focused session before.

CW: Cricket WCT20 at School
#Cricket #WorldCup #T20 ongoing and we cancelled classes after lunch to let the kids watch matches live.
Yesterday's #PAKvsNZ and today's damp squib #INDvsENG.
Mad scenes. Most kids don't have telly at home, and they enjoyed the big screen at school. Cheering, hollering and random wacky responses to onscreen commentary and play. :)
In between overs and wickets, explaining cricketing terms and context to them. Older know-it-alls pitching in and showing off in front of kids and teachers. Enjoying ads and critiquing in the most basic manner.
Reader. Fun was had.
That's my #EduGlow for today.
