  1. Had a thought over the weekend that our #VoIP service has a separate E911 entry from the main account, and the address might not be sync'd.

Sure enough that's the case - if you have an E911 provider, you should prob check that. If I'd called 911 they would've been dispatched to the old place. Ugh. Fixed now.

  5. Is it worth paying #Anveo $15 per year so #E911 calls continue to work through the #VoIP box providing service to the four cordless phones in our house?
Pro: If we do call 911 through one of those phones, it's probably an emergency, and every second could matter.
Con: This happens once in a blue moon, we can just use our cell phones.
(I ask myself this question every year before paying the $15. I'm curious to see what other people think.)

  6. @thenewoil RE: #SurveillanceReport episode "Reddit Sold You Out" on the topic that the #AT&T outage is a good reason to use #VoIP. Just a FYI (as I used to work for a major telecom) that most major telecoms use VoIP internally for both last-mile and peering call termination. So if you have a separate VoIP provider and the destination call was traversing over a downed networks, it would still fail.

    As always, love the content!
