Hoy es el aniversario del nacimiento de Edmund Halley, quien pagó de su bolsillo la edición de los Principia, siendo responsable de ese modo de que se publicara la información que causo la mayor revolución científica de la historia.
Se cumple también un año más desde la apertura del Louvre, donde la revolución francesa puso las obras artísticas confiscadas a la nobleza a disposición de las clases populares, que fueron las que financiaron su creación.
Es también el cumpleaños de Jack St. Clair Kilby, inventor del primer circuito integrado, indispensable para el funcionamiento de Internet, la autopista por la que la información circula.
Se cumple hoy también un año más desde el nacimiento de Aaron Swartz, quien fue perseguido por el aparato de poder de la nueva nobleza plutocrática, por poner en Internet y a disposición de las clases populares, la información producida por los científicos que esas clases mantienen.
Siguiendo con los cumpleaños, hoy se cumplen 531 años desde el nacimiento de Vlad Tepes, cuyos métodos sanguinarios motivaron a Bram Stocker, quien también cumpliría 178 años hoy, a inmortalizar la historia de Drácula.
Hoy los vampiros no se nutren de la sangre de su víctimas, sino de la información que estas producen.
Es un buen día para recordar que la libre circulación de toda la información científica y artística, que en todos los casos es financiada por los ciudadanos, es un derecho que estos ciudadanos tienen, así como también lo es el derecho a la privacidad de su información personal.

Nos reunimos este 8 de noviembre en furilofche (aka bariloche) en la sala Rafael Nahuel de la biblioteca Aime Paine (KM 7.200) de 18 a 20hs para recordar a Aaron Swartz: hacktivista y soñador de una internet libre, abierta y colectiva.
Aaron cumpliría 38 años este año, y seguimos invocando su memoria no como culto ni nostalgia, si no para continuar su lucha contra la privatización del conocimiento y la captura corporativa de la web, recordando que su historia, su persecución y su muerte son parte del mismo aparato que busca disciplinar la imaginación colectiva de nuestras redes.
