These are compositions with my Raspberry Pi 5 connected with a TP-LINK USB Wi-Fi NIC

As you can see from the photographs of the box, the device has been created a number of years ago, because it still came with the driver CD for Closed Source Operating Systems

When I bought the USB Nick TP-LINK had not provided the data sheets for the network module coders to build a module for it, effectively rendering the NIC useless for me

Because I now have my SBC I took the NIC out just to see if I could use it for a spin.

The motivation is that the re-spin version of MX Linux for Raspberry Pi, refused to work with the Broadcom NIC embedded in the SBC.

I jumped to another USB NIC that also came with my SBC. Luckily that one worked out of the box. It was then that I remembered the tp-link USB NIC.

So thanks to the Raspberry Pi5, I now have use for the TP Link NIC, that I had shelved years ago.

Because I now have two working USB Wi-Fi NICs I can properly use a router OS on the SBC. I will work with two DDWRT and As you all know routing needs two network segments.

Any #FreeBSD folk know if the upgrade to 14.3 causes issues with Wake on LAN for bge interfaces please? I have a HP Microserver with a BCM5720C, that until the upgrade would be woken every day. Since the upgrade to 14.3 it doesn't wake any more. `ifconfig -m bge0` also doesn't show any WOL flags in the capabilities, but since it worked for the last 9 months, it must be there.

(I also don't understand how a change in the OS version would affect something that I'm pretty sure happens at a level much lower than that.)

Yeah, so it looks like that's the case. My #mobo have one USB 2 controller and two #USB 3 ones (one connected to #chipset and one directly connected to #CPU to enable high speed USB-C).
The #keyboard was connected to the CPU one, and on every port the USB #NIC has some weird issues with #ping spikes. When switched to USB 2.0 the ping issues go away but the speed is 250 Mbps. Connecting to the other controller's USB 3.2 I have full speed and no ping issues.

WE DID IT!

Bazzite 42 + TP-Link USB Ethernet NIC + static IP + connecting my DAC/AMP with USB 2.0 + installing on internal SSD instead of external + disabling XHCI Hand-off solved all my issues with Linux on PC.

Time to finally go home... Home sweet home Linux...

Only issue that persists, but I suspect just an application bug - launching Steam freezes my Plasma for 3-5 seconds.
