I saw people discussing whether it's important that the Fediverse, or Mastodon specifically, "grow".
I have thoughts, after seeing a few reactions.
What I find is that the kind of people I want to spend time with, devote attention to, share with, seek out, will gravitate to the same places, mediums, platforms and activities as I do.
So while it's nice if "everyone is here", or "the important people are here", that's not my own goal anyway.

I have a theory: when a gun is fired directly at someone, the sheer, terrifying blast of the trigger pull and the explosion kills them internally before the bullet even touches their skin. That sudden, deafening sound unleashes an unwithstandable fear so intense it is capable of sending someone straight home to eternity.
