People who actively observe and consciously influence their thoughts, emotions, and behavior, people who learn to use their minds skillfully and consciously observe the stimuli of their sensory organs, not only see the world as it really is, but also become more stable in their #personality.
People who learn to explore their inner universe, to #contemplate and #meditate on #values and #truths, find inner #balance. They become strong-willed, steadfast, and have #character.

There are 3 questions for reflection in this section of #ContemplativeKnitting The first is: how big is your #orbit (meaning the world you see & interact with on a daily/regular basis)?

My answer is twofold: 1) my orbit isn’t as big as it used to be & 2) it’s not as big as I want it to be. There may be a third facet in there, too. As I discovered recently when my dad died, my orbit is bigger than I realize.

And honestly, I’m just leaving those answers there, ATM because, although I read the section days ago & have been thinking about my answers since then. I still feel the need to #contemplate it a little longer. Maybe take a #walk or #knit another row….

we may #aspire to a healthy #mind in a #healthy #body … but not have them … Wot then?

Depends the degree of #disability. For example being a hater, troll etc is a mind disability BUT hating ones physical impairment is #normal.

So some tips:
- do not be a pain or #enabler of peoples hurt
- be a window pane into a #better realm
- #relaxing (even intensely or in #tension) can be #practiced

This past week has been an extreme challenge for me emotionally. I was faced with a situation that had me believing I was the biggest asshole. It turns out, I’m not. But how did I ultimately reach this conclusion? I listened, found the facts, and then reflected a good long while before reaching a conclusion.

@arossp it's sad indeed that you even need to #contemplate but I suspect having #kids minds not focused on a #hetero #cis #boy killing all their #teachers and therefore not #screaming and causing the #mindless #American cis hetero #boy to #panic and kill more kids in that #panicked state, may well be a #good thing one day.

ITMT think about the #problem of the #drill in its actual #context - why does anyone #think it's #needed?

Use that as a #baseline for your next #toot.. just sayin
