In general, I am against using wells for irrigation, because I believe that the aquifer needs to be replenished rather than taken from. However, our friends have already taken this path and right now, it is the fastest and cheapest way to achieve near-term stability. In many parts of the world, €2600 would not even get you a shallow well.
Please help them, because their work is too important and promising to be held back by an imperfection. If @econetwork succeeds, they will be able to teach many people sustainable drought strategies.

The alcohol industry and its affiliated tv chefs/media have for decades cited a study which claimed health benefits from moderate alcohol intake, but this 'French Paradigm' was FALSE.
The study falsely claimed Abstainers had been found to be less healthy than regular drinkers etc.Scrutiny revealed that its Abstainers included many former drinkers who’d had to stop due to health problems, plus chronically unwell never-drinkers who'd needed to avoid alcohol.
That is not a neutral selection.Bias was in the opposite direction in the 'low-to-moderate drinkers' - many had major health ADVANTAGES (e.g. higher incomes, healthier diets, more exercise, and less obesity).
Adjusting this obvious bias in results reveals a sobering fact ... alcohol’s claimed survival protection dropped to statistical meaninglessness.
This is an example why it is wise to reconsider food choices each time an obviously meat/dairy pushing tv chef, author or influencer drops dead or has an early cardiac issue etc. I can easily think of a TV farmer personality at present.
The same biasing methods are used by multiple industries, and include backdoor buying influence on health-condition charity guidelines etc. AND flying representatives into nutritional courses, and 'men's health groups' etc. to keep men on the conveyor belts of mindless 'habit' and 'convenience', hurtling to premature graves, via amputations and all sorts...
You have the power to listen to your body's signals and scrutinise claims etc. Yes they will try to bias evidence repeatedly, and influence doctors who have never done in-depth nutritional training, plus health groups and charities ... so look back over your life. Which behaviours are shared by those you know, with health problems.
For me, the big wake up was seeing people being refused surgeries because they had accumulated too much alcohol, dairy and meat fat, whilst also seeing great blood results from vegans.
