The easy part of doing the #retrocomputing stuff is the collecting and copying software. The hard part is to actually take the time needed learn and create something for myself.
So now I really need to start learning #6502 (45GS02) #ASM and practicing my #BASIC skills on the #Mega65 because that's why I bought it.

Tried out the newly released #GUI64 for the #Commodore64 today from https://github.com/WebFritzi/GUI64
Works like a charm on the #Mega65 with the #C64 core!
But I haven't yet connected any SD2IEC-device to try that out though.It's a simple yet elegant UI.

A photo from back in 2005.
It was the last time I saw my #C64, 1541 #floppy disk drive, #cassette drives and games before I gave it away when I moved from Sweden to the UK.Now with my #Mega65 I want to play all the games I remembered playing as a kid during the days before the 386 and my PC era.
The boxed games is easy to see what I once had. But I can only remember the names of a few of the copied games on 5,25" disks.

Configuring the #mouSTer on the #Mega65
Firmware updated the mouSTer and configured it to use c1351.
It worked "ok" on #GEOS when having a nice steady but fast hand. But something is a bit odd when moving the mouse slow because it's just stuck until it jumps away pretty far.Don't really have any use for either a mouse or #GEOS65 right now though so a reconfigure of the mouSTer and more troubleshooting will have to be something for later.

The #8bit adventure continues with the #Mega65.
This morning I copied Showdown65 onto a floppy and played round after round single player. The music, the fast paced showndown gameplay and the game mechanics are all really great and well executed.

Games! Playing some #Mega65 games!
After all the work with formatting floppies and putting labels on them it was time to get some practical use out of the #floppydisks.
"BASIC Star Galactica" - It's fantastic what one can do with BASIC on 40Mhz. And I had to put the Tac-2 to some hard work.
"Classy" - It's a candy crush like pussel game addiction with this game to match Computer logos!

The #Mega65 initial setup.
I connected my HDMI Capture Card so I can more easily switch between windows/computers while I'm downloading all the software I need on my new SD Card.
Started out with a new empty card and the built in formatting tool populated the card with ROM and essentials.
I wanted to try out the an original #Commodore65 ROM and installed that too on the card. Can then just switch between the latest Mega65 ROM and the #C65 ROM at boot.
