  1. Since we moved to our new house in #Eynsham, #Oxfordshire in Oct we've been counting bird species seen & heard - 52 so far!

We're very pleased with the siskins & esp #REDPOLLS. They're not rare here but they're not common either so it's a joy to see 2 pairs visiting the feeders every day!

  2. I keep forgetting that I've got a big bag of niger seed, but no feeder to put it in, so…

Any recommendations for a niger seed feeder that won't spill its contents at the slightest breeze or when the fat pigeon tries to land on it? Bonus points for being easily cleaned and an integral tray that catches anything that falls out.

UK suppliers hugely preferred, alternatives considered if the shipping isn't outrageous.

  3. Where do the #birds go? And where do they come from?

My hand painted #map of bird migrations answers some of those questions.

  4. Also took a rather lovely trip to #SnapeMaltings yesterday as a friend said there were bearded tits in the reeds.

There were! And 3 kingfishers - both species of which I've never seen before. Some beautiful avocet, snipe, sandpipers too. Highly recommend.

Crappy phone photo by me. Others by my photographer friend.

  5. Treecreeper spotted in Boat of Garten today. The first time I’ve actually seen one 😊

  6. My little #Robin friend this morning. Now that the weather has turned cooler and the winter territories seem to be more or less settled, he has a bit more time to sit and chat, although he still needs to fly up into the trees to sing occasionally to tell all the other local Robins to keep out of his patch. This morning we found several worms and lots of landhoppers for his breakfast. #Birds #BirdsOfMastodon #Nature #Wildlife #BritishWildlife #UKBirding #Birdwatching #BirdwatchingUK
