  1. I absolutely love sitting down working at a computer during the cyber thing on an overcast cold day inside a warm house with a hot mug of tea, looking outside through a window at snow-covered ground - although in my case today it is sleet-covered, but still very white.

Still hate being outside in this weather though. But it reminds this Texan of growing up in Oklahoma where we actually experienced regular snowy weather in the winter.

  2. If you're a #security person aka #infosec my employer is hiring. While most of the open positions are tied to a region, it is #allremote here.

    If you're a #coder (mainly #Ruby, #golang, #RubyonRails, some #Python) there are open positions as well. Again, we're #allremote here.

  3. Yet another #security related job opening at my employer, #GitLab. Apply if interested, and if we know each other let me know and I can pass on a recommendation.

  4. @drwho about.gitlab.com/jobs/all-jobs and search for the security jobs, there are several things open, hopefully something looks like a decent fit. And nicely it is #AllRemote which is the way to go.

  5. Hey #infosec and #hacker nerds - GitLab just posted a few more job openings in addition to a few others already open. Reminder, #allremote but some jobs are tied to a region/continent due to follow-the-sun global needs. Feel free to repost far and wide.

  6. @nuria about.gitlab.com/jobs/all-jobs aber wegen #allRemote ist der "Location"-Filter dort nicht so ganz wichtig ;-)

  7. A noisy suburban day. Early this morning at the Bell Helicopter test place it was flight testing, plus the usual traffic from a busy nearby regional airport, plenty of planes heading to and from DFW, and it seems an hourly run from the extremely nearby fire station - all adding up to more noise than normal.

I'm head down in a ton of work today, but this seems to be even more noise than I am used to.

  8. To the extend that foreign spies still count cars in front of security agencies' office buildings, #WorkingFromHome & #PublicTransport can protect national security.

Wenn dieser Effekt eintritt… chaos.social/@freakonometrics@ … ist das Büro vielleicht sinnlos? Außer für den Bürobesitzer, natürlich.

  11. I work at #GitLab who is currently hiring for their #RedTeam. GitLab is #AllRemote so if you like working #remote you'll love this place.

If we actually know each other, let me know when you apply and I'll put in a good word for you. Qualifications and other details in the link.

  12. I started a new #job in #tech in early October.

I have yet to download my #work email or slack to my phone.

    I haven't missed anything.

It was really important to me to set #boundaries going into this #remotefirst #allremote #tech role. When I am at my computer, I am focused on work. When I am away from my computer I am focused on #life.

    I still work 40+ hours a week. But I am less #stressed, more #productive and more #present.

    True #worklife #balance matters.

  13. New instance, new #introduction toot.

Hello, I am Mark aka Simple Nomad. I have been on the Internet before there was really an Internet. I've worked as a researcher remotely since 1999 for the last 5 jobs with the word "security" in my title (once had the word "scientist"!) Current job at #GitLab the entire company is #AllRemote and I can say that This Is The Way.

I have an extensive #homelab with static public IPs running real services (including this Mastodon instance), this network is a work lab as well as a home base for NMRC (nmrc.org), a #hacker collective formed mid-90s which still has a few active members.

Personal blog is at markloveless.net. There you can read utter nonsense, and some extensive blogging on my #solar setup (no electric bill!) here in Texas. Yes this #hippy lives in Texas, I hate sports yet live 3.4 miles away from that atrocious giant stadium here in Arlington where the Cowboys are.

I love #progmetal and #industrialmetal the most. I love #woodworking and have a full shop of expensive tools.
