  1. Follow-up. Since then, in addition to getting a formal #autism diagnosis, I've also been watching shows from the "Autism in television" category that I can find on Netflix and adding more and more quotations from them to #Wiktionary. And also translations of Korean words, in the case of "Extraordinary Attorney Woo".

  5. The #Alstom Foundation and Instituto Jô Clemente (IJC) are expanding their “Virtual Reality for Inclusion” project, which uses immersive simulations to help people with intellectual disabilities and #Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) develop greater independence when using public #transport. Launched in 2023, the initiative has already reached more than 900 participants and indirectly supports about 1,800 family members, carers and others in their support networks.

The second phase introduces more complex journeys, including transfers between #metro lines and routes reflecting commutes to work or school. By the end of 2026, scenarios will also cover crossing roads, navigating public spaces and walking through commercial areas. The project aims to strengthen spatial awareness, decision-making and other skills linked to independent living, social inclusion and access to education and employment.

  10. Here in the #Philippines, there is a growing "trend(?)" amongst families with #Autistic daughters: Creating a Facebook Page and sharing their autistic lives.

We all know for years that autism discussion and research is mainly dominatid by [white] autistic boys and men. Filipinos are changing this.

  11. I cannot speak for them, but from my almost two years of observation, the feedback is very positive.

    1. Autistic awareness AND acceptance is increasing
    2. Autistic girls and women are getting more exposure/acknowledged

  19. Let's not change our lives at all to accommodate the neurodiverse people in our midst, let's just find a pill they can take so they won't bother us anymore. 🤬

  24. I can't get a single damn accommodation as an autistic/ADHD person in the workplace, but it's PERFECTLY FINE for the xenophobic old man at the front desk to push ALL of my trauma buttons by ""jokingly"" (as if that makes it okay) BLAMING ME for shit like the WEATHER and HIM dropping things.

    Make it make sense.

  29. Hi! I have a question for everyone who experiences sensory hypersensitivity, whether as a result of being neurodivergent or due to various conditions or illnesses that can cause this kind of sensitivity.

What are your experiences with underwear? What bothers you the most, and what features do you find desirable or necessary for comfort?

I’m primarily interested in bras, but not exclusively. I’d love to hear about anything you wear directly against your body that falls under the broad category of underwear/lingerie.

I’d like to identify common themes shared by many people, while also understanding the full range and diversity of your experiences.

I’m planning to write an article about this for a lingerie industry magazine, with the aim of making lingerie manufacturers and retailers more aware of the needs of people with sensory hypersensitivity.

    Boosts appreciated!
