Yes, I'm doing it, I'm writing about a megastructure game for the second time this week because come on, HELENA : Cloud District just looks stunning, don't it? Admittedly there's a chance you've not heard of it, that be the way of things in this algorithmically ...
Xbox COO May Have Been Terminated After 3 Months On The Job, Potentially Due To Policy Violations
The other day Xbox announced that Helen Chiang, Xbox’s first-ever chief operating officer (COO), was leaving the company. This was surprising as she had gained the job just three months ago as part of Asha Sharma’s big regime changes, and has been with Xbox for 21 years.
Advertisements“Helen Chiang is leaving Microsoft today. I’m grateful for her years of service and wish her well,” Sharma wrote in an oddly brief announcement.
This naturally sparked debate because this isn’t the first Xbox executive to leave the brand recently. Four months ago, Craig Duncan, head of Xbox Game Studios, and Louise O’Connor, chief of staff, both left the company. Chiang leaving after just three months added to the speculation of problems within Xbox.
It turns out, though, things are both simpler and weirder. According to Eurogamer, a “source familiar with the situation” told them that Chiang was actually “terminated for policy violations”. Eurogamer does note that they have not been able to verify this claim independently.
Assuming the claim is true, though, it would explain the sudden departure after being given the promotion so recently.

"This is a new low in a pattern of threatening behaviour against politicians and it has been reported to Victoria Police,"
- Paul Edbrooke, after finding a bullet on his car
Bitch, Helen Haines has just had both her legs amputated because of a violent attack on her, and you think someone leaving something on your car is a "new low"?
Men will take the violent traumas other men inflict on women and use them as fodder for their own little faux hero-dramas.

I’m sure many of you already know of the brilliant Swan River Press, based in Dublin. Its output is “dedicated exclusively to the literature of the fantastic” and “guided by a passion for works of the supernatural and strange.”
Run single-handedly by the indefatigable Brian J. Showers, the press’s books are always striking, produced with the kind of attention to detail and care which seems to be increasingly rare. They also publish work by an encouragingly large roster of women writers, both historical and current (some of the latter are Joyce Carol Oates, Rosalie Parker, Lynda E. Rucker and Helen Grant).
Highly recommended if you’re at all interested in the literature of the strange, gothic and supernatural fiction ,and uncanny writing of all descriptions.

My favourite apple tree (the one outside my office window) has fallen victim to storm Boelo 😢. It is still standing but it has lost a main branch and is now very lopsided. The trunk is hollow so it’s pretty vulnerable. It is laden with fruit as the variety is late to ripen. I started picking them today with the intention of making cider. I will need to look into propagating it fairly soon, just in case we lose it. No idea how mind.
It was like a little whirlwind came through. My husband had gone out to get something from his workshop just before it got dark and I was preparing dinner. There was then a great swirling wind that threw leaves at the kitchen window, which was weird. It’s in a sheltered spot, the main wind direction coming from the opposite side of the house. I remember thinking that he’d picked the wrong time to go outside. When he came back in he said that he rushed into his workshop as he saw a ‘ball of rain’ come over the field. The branch came down just after.
