  2. Most belt places stopped circulating plates for you to take. It's now an order-only system where they send the plate you order to your table.

But Hama Sushi has recently added a second narrow touch screen that "circulates" the available items, much the same way as the old conveyor belt did. You can pick and order directly from that screen if you want.

And it works really well. You get inspiration for what to pick next, and it's fun to see the range of stuff scroll by.

  3. Huh. So I take my home (for reasons). I come to work, put the keyboard back on the desk, but I forget to fold out the little feet in the back. You know, the ones that tilt the keyboard towards you.

I've used it for two days, and only now realized it. Also, I'm pretty sure I'm more comfortable with the keyboard flat than with it angled up - at least for typing text.

Have to try this at home on the keyboard too.

  4. @mikestreety
I use for now. Is it great? No; it's pretty basic. And feed discovery isn't always great.

But it runs completely locally on the phone, and it supports opml so it's easy to get your feed collection into it, and out again should you need it

  5. The boom in is getting out of control. In Chuo ward you can't throw a bag of ethically sourced small-lot beans without hitting a roaster or a specialty coffee shop.

I worry it's unsustainable. Much as people like good coffee there's no way all these places can attract enough traffic to pay the bills.

  6. Today's dinner is Karelian pirogs. The traditional topping is egg butter, but I prefer a slice of ham and mustard.

  12. Last day of work was yesterday, and the New Year holiday is finally here!

What better time to clean my keyboards? At the top, a Pro2 jp, and below a partially disassembled TKL, both with switches. I spend several hours every day typing on these, and Topre switches is my favourite type by far.

  18. "Karen" Taiwanese restaurant in is one of my favorite places to eat anywhere. They moved to a larger, better location earlier this year, but you may still need to wait during busy hours.

If you find yourself in this is a good place to visit.

  19. So was nice and all. But has really changed for the worse. Lots of empty storefronts, empty offices, security guards, scary-looking people.

And not just scary-looking; a colleague of mine was attacked twice for being asian or chinese during the week when they were out walking alone, in the middle of the day.

Next year is in , one week before their election. I'm going to sit out that one. It doesn't feel safe.

  20. Two-year inspection of our apartment. Got a couple minor issues fixed (broken screen door lock, loose edge of the toilet water tray), but overall it's all good. Moving here to has been a great experience so far.
