I, Robot is on the telly and it's such a load of crap. I know Will is supposed to be a bit jerky because he changes his opinion on robots, but he's kind of a jerk.
Also, it bores me with all this: dewy-eyed robots and they got feelings too! It's just stupid.
I prefer to watch Kryten and Holly on Red Dwarf who both have emotions and it's ridiculous but who cares? And Kryten grows by learning the worst of human behaviour.
I mean, if you do robot-with-feelings, at least make it enjoyable to watch.

I watched the first episode of #SmallProphets and it was just like the #Detectorists: slow, alright to watch, but who really cares?
Actually the slowness did piss me off. Basically it had half an episode of events padded out into a full episode.
I knew it was about the supernatural, but by half way through I realised that nothing (overtly) supernatural was going to happen until the very end.
And I was right! Shocker! Except the 'supernatural' ending was a badly photoshopped photo of a fairy in a jar.
And for doing that, the show can go fuck itself. I won't be held hostage by the promise of magical-things-to-come just as long as I keep watching this dreary pile of crud.
No, it didn't move me enough for me to care.
It might sound like I hated it, but really, I'm quite neutral about it -- indifferent -- which is why it took me a couple of days to actually bother to write this.
I so miss the more quickfire, action-packed comedy they used to do. I'm so bored of this middle-class, slow, pseudo-thoughtful plop, performed to the soundtrack of bland folk music.
It's not comedy, it's *heh*

#ChrisHedges | Is Israel 'On the Brink?' (w/ Ilan Pappé)
In spite of Israel’s military dominance over its regional foes, is the Zionist entity actually at its most vulnerable point in history? And more importantly — can it sustain the Jewish state project?

OK so Easy Lover by #PhilCollins and #PhilipBailey was on the #TV the other day and I had it playing in my #sleep.
The thing is: Isn't it a bit unusual for this song to be sung as a duet? I mean, what's actually being said here? I mean, they are totally saying they share this woman, aren't they?

Starmer/the #LabourRight exist to limit peoples' choice at the ballot box. They are sufficiently right leaning but not enough so that people can say: Well, the Tories are worse!
But what does that mean for democracy? You're voting for politics that is increasingly shifting rightwards, and as they continue to limit choice, you'll be voting for progressively more right wing shit.

#Skwawkbox | #Starmer criticises #Tories for the sentencing guidelines he helped to write
They can't be that inept. I think it's really clear the main aim of Starmer and the #LabourRight is to destroy the party and create apathy.
A parallel would be the #BBC - also being trashed with the public made to fell apathetic towards.
We're supposed to fight to save them ... but I can't help fall in line with the game and feel apathetic.

This is interesting. Justin Podur accounts for the solidarity between Iranian ex-pats, the US, and Zionists as a matter of racial identity. That is, an #Aryan identity.
#JustinPodur | The academic racists behind Iranian monarchism
"Still, it was jarring to see online that in places like Toronto and Beverly Hills, people celebrated these murders. Even in North America, which is full of diasporas who call for the overthrow of the countries from which they came, seeing - from non-Israelis - celebrations of genocidal bombing is rare, surprising - even baffling."

Speaking of flipping #laserdiscs ...
I've got a copy of Goodfellas and the movie's on both sides of the disc and you have to turn it over and shit.
It's just weird.

They're making wicker on the telly and instead of plastic bags, we should be using reusable wicker bags!

There's a programme on the telly and the narrator was explaining how Chinese alligators were hunted until near extinction because they were thought of as fish-eating pests.
And then there was a man who looked like he was fishing for an alligator but he was actually just feeding one and looking after them.

As far as I can tell, according to that mastodon dot social guy, the word 'Toot' is official over for Mastodon posts.
That may be so (my instance still has a Toot button) but I propose the term Subtoot remain.

I was considering whether to include a final (kind of) space battle at the end of the novel I'm currently writing. It's a battle that features in my last novel but is more of a side event. And in this novel, the novel ends before the battle happens.
But then I realised that if I wrote further novels I'd start one of them with that space battle. I think that would make a good opener.
You know, maybe that will happen.

I'm not sure how many Oliver Stone movies I've seen, but I kinda think he's a bit of a rubbishy director. I can't think of any of his movies being particularly notable. I've not seen JFK though.
Wall Street has some good bits to it. The steady cam shooting works well and Michael Douglas is pretty good in it. But the performances aren't brilliant.
In fact, with both Charlie and Martin Sheen playing father and son, they don't really add much of a family dynamic to movie. It's not bad, but it's nothing special.

Re. putting fake #QRCodes over the real ones in restaurants.
Probably some effective #hacktivism would be to copy the menu but just change all the prices.
So each table will be querying their bill and leaving poor reviews.

CW: Midsommar Probably Spoilers
I read online that some people see Midsommar as #Feminism
I saw it as the #manipulation of people by a cult. All the characters were primed by Pelle. This is, I think, revealed to us without it actually being shown.
I also wondered if the 'suicide/murder' of Dani's sister wasn't set up by Pelle and his brother. The film however doesn't give any indication that the suicide was staged. Although the tape around the victim's mouth seemed suspicions to me ...
I was surprised that people might think Christian character as only toxic masculinity. He is also a victim
I read it as both of them as being toxic in their own way. While Christian is leaving Dani hanging and not breaking up with her, she also asks a lot from him and he is initially there for her.
Because looking at it from Christian's POV, although he wants to break up, the suicide thing makes that a really shitty move and he's kinda trapped.
Christian does some shitty things, Dani also has digs at him, jumps on minor things, expecting more from him
I didn't see it as which one is the villain. I saw it more of a difficult and mutually collapsing relationship which was exactly what the cult needed to exploit

#CraigMurray | Zionism Has Poisoned the UK’s Central Nervous System
"The media have spent the last several days since the local elections studiously ignoring the fact that support for Genocide is a key factor in alienating the Labour Party’s traditional voting base – or when they do mention it, relating it only to Muslim voters. One thing we know for certain is that any probable new Prime Minister is not going to change Britain’s support for the genocidal zionist entity."
