Gowwd… this so resonated with me. Like a cathedral bell inside my head, banging me into some awakened state. It’s slowly dawning on me that it’s time for another change in the way I live my life. Here I was thinking, I got this. I know what’s going on and I’m prepared for it. I have skills enough to recognise what it’s doing to me. Well, let me tell you. No matter how prepared and skilled you think you are, you can be fooled given enough time. As an unlikable army intelligence instructor I once had to endure was fond of saying: ‘The system, given enough time and resources, will always break you.’ And it’s hard these days to recognised, among all of those we’re subjected to, which system is brainwashing because there’s so much noise generated around it.
“Thinking and writing have become harder. It’s as if the neurons in my brain don’t connect with each other in quite the same way. I go to check a fact and get instantly diverted by a hundred other distractions on my phone.
