Over the years I've drawn a lot of cartoons with zero words. The same is true of memes and animations.
When editing my college paper I’d pick a controversial word like “ABORTION” and run it in all caps at 48 points one or two columns wide with a four point border in the space reserved for a letter to the editor.
Effective one word incentives to get the crazies to write in to fill space.
In newspaper journalism the standard is a 25 word lede. Your entire story might be cut down to that. The gist of the story needs to be in that first 25 words and everything else has to be written to be easily cut down to available space. Writing to be coherently cut is an art that gets more of your journalistic writing into print intact rather than decimated or re-written by an editor on deadline. Editors edit. Never make them write.
Children’s books can be tiny. “A Hippopotamus Ate Our House” is about 40 words. I wrote and illustrated it one afternoon for a little girl whose border collie Maggie chewed her rag doll to bits.
When writing for magazines it helps to write for easy jumps based on their typography and format. Jumps are how they make their readers see ads. Spoon-feed the editor with obvious bridges and diving boards to preserve coherence.
In court: Facts, evidence, law. The judge knows the law. The facts and supporting evidence are critical to making your case. There is a reason they are called “briefs.”
Fifty words seems to be a reasonable floor for very short fiction stories.
Poetry can be much shorter:
Thumb sized green birds hop
Peck at summer clover
Crow flees to pine treeElephant noses
Collect white cottonwood seeds
Fluffy springtime snackI learned a lot from an exercise in a creative writing seminar that asked for 500, 250, 100, and 50 word versions of the same story. A pretty useful skill to develop for distilling larger works down to coherent synopses that don’t sound insane.

After about a year of thinking on it, I recently installed #GrapheneOS
I had a Pixel 6 that was slowing down so I paid around $375 for a Pixel 10A and used the WebUSB install (outlined here: https://grapheneos.org/install/)
It took me about 30 minutes and was surprisingly easy
The apps function mostly the same, they're just downloaded via a Google Play app store mirror... group text will feel different to Apple and Android users, but I mostly use Signal so for me the impact is minimal

Niko Kovac’s new contract includes bonus payments. Should he succeed in winning the German league title with Borussia Dortmund, the manager will receive around 1.2 million euros; the same applies to the Champions League title. He will receive 500,000 euros for winning the DFB Cup.
Borussia Dortmund have also protection against poor results. Should Kovac fail to deliver, Borussia Dortmund have the option to terminate the contract immediately via a clause in the agreement. At the time of termination, the outstanding salary due up to 2029 will be calculated. Kovac will receive 50 per cent of this sum. This would allow the club to remove the manager from the payroll immediately.
