If you're using Gmail and Outlook, you should consider switching to a smaller instance :fedi:
Or at least set up an alternate email address that you check as well—it's not that hard and most apps (including official ones like Gmail and Apple Mail) let you add as many email accounts as you want to the same app, so you don't have to "remember" to check another email address or anything :thunderbird:
