I used to watch some of his sermons back in the day.
He was among my favorite preachers because he talked about interesting topics like this.
So it was quite the surprise to learn about this video.

OceanLotus suspected of distributing ZiChatBot malware via wheel packages in PyPI
Between July 2025 and present, threat actors suspected to be OceanLotus distributed malicious wheel packages through PyPI targeting both Windows and Linux platforms. Three fake libraries (uuid32-utils, colorinal, and termncolor) were created to imitate legitimate packages, implementing a sophisticated supply chain attack. The packages deployed droppers that delivered ZiChatBot, a previously unknown malware family using Zulip's REST APIs as command and control infrastructure instead of traditional C2 servers. The malware supports executing shellcode commands and establishes persistence through registry keys on Windows or crontab on Linux. Attribution to OceanLotus is based on 64% similarity with known droppers analyzed by KTAE system. The malicious packages were swiftly removed from PyPI following discovery.

Operation Silent Rotor: Rust-Based Malware Targets Eurasian Unmanned Aviation Sector Ahead of Moscow Summit
A sophisticated spear phishing campaign targets professionals in the Eurasian unmanned aviation sector, timed to coincide with the XIII Eurasian International Forum 'Unmanned Aviation 2026' in Moscow. The attack delivers malicious archives containing Rust-based executables disguised as legitimate documents from the Russian Aeronautical Information Center. The malware displays aviation-themed decoy documents in Russian while collecting system information including hostnames, volume serial numbers, network adapter details, and environment variables. Collected data is encrypted via XOR and exfiltrated to a C2 server over HTTPS. The malware subsequently downloads and executes a second-stage payload using AES-256 decryption. The campaign demonstrates targeted social engineering with realistic aviation order documents, translation certificates, and product summaries to compromise victims in Russia, Tajikistan, Central Asia, Middle East and Europe.

Multi-Stage AiTM Attack Uses Code Of Conduct Phishing Emails
A sophisticated credential theft campaign targeting over 35,000 users across 13,000 organizations was observed between April 14-16, 2026. The operation primarily impacted the United States, particularly healthcare and financial services sectors. Attackers used code of conduct themed phishing emails masquerading as internal compliance communications, sent through legitimate email delivery services from attacker-controlled domains. Victims received polished HTML emails with PDF attachments containing fake disciplinary logs and CAPTCHA gates to evade automated analysis. The multi-stage attack chain ultimately directed users to counterfeit Microsoft authentication pages operating as adversary-in-the-middle infrastructure, enabling real-time interception of credentials and session tokens while bypassing multi-factor authentication defenses.

A sophisticated 64-bit information-stealing malware named Remus has emerged as a direct evolution of the notorious Lumma Stealer. Following the doxxing of alleged Lumma core members between August and October 2025, developers created this advanced variant, with test builds appearing in September 2025 and live campaigns starting February 2026. Remus employs innovative techniques including injecting custom 51-byte shellcode into browser memory to extract protected master keys, bypassing Application-Bound Encryption in Chromium-based browsers. The malware utilizes EtherHiding through Ethereum smart contracts for command-and-control resolution, making infrastructure takedowns nearly impossible. It targets browser credentials, session cookies, and cryptocurrency wallets while implementing rigorous anti-analysis checks to evade security research environments.
