Thanks to some birthday funds, I’ve added a Nikkor 26mm f/2.8 to my kit. This gives me a very nice, reasonably small and lightweight travel kit. The 26mm as my primary wide-angle walk around lens, the 40mm f/2 for a “standard” field of view and a little more light, and the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 as a fast midrange zoom. Now I just need to get some traveling in….

I'm sometimes convinced that if they had longer lifespans, cuttlefish, octopus, and other cephalopods could be giving us a run for our money as dominant species on this planet. Incredibly smart, and if they ever figured out how to live out of the water…. (Well, there is the Pacific Northwest Tree Octopus, so I suppose it's just a matter of time now.)

Every so often, we drive on the dam road to see the dam view, sometimes we take the dam tour…but we always make the dam jokes.

Maleficent scheming. I was playing around; this is a small figurine next to a crystal sphere wrapped in a blanket, with a flash underneath firing up through the sphere.
