Now that the #bonk is out of the bag, erm box, I can finally reveal the secret weapon that I specifically acquired for the occasion:
The Casiotone MT-70 is one of only six sine wave based #Casio synths, released in 1982. This makes its sound palette quite limited, but unique.
Its accompaniment section has a few tricks up its sleeve, especially the arpeggio mode, which I will show off in the video in the second post.

Happy #Caturday from #MiniTheCat whose tail indicates that he was not 100% happy about my choice of music at the time.
(might also be of interest to @catsynth ? Feel free to grab it if so!)

#FollowFriday meet #BandCampFriday (a🧵)
Here's five fab fellow #Fediversers to follow.
All of them released riveting #records, some full of beautiful #beats, others bring you #beatless bliss, but all buyable via #Bandcamp (bar one, which is free as in beer)
To make it easier to listen, I'll put each one into a separate toot - coming up right now:
(well, right after these tags)

Ooh, nice! That has got a lot of controls and that lovely low sample rate sound.
It's #pt2399 based, right?
Edit: Ah yes, I can spot it on the second PCB.

If anyone is wondering how to scrobble, either to Last.fm, GNU/Libre.fm (although that's being rebuilt as https://github.com/foocorp/hacienda ), #ListenBrainz or #Maloja, I can recommend
PanoScrobbler for Android
https://github.com/kawaiiDango/pano-scrobblerWeb Scrobbler for Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge
https://github.com/web-scrobbler/web-scrobblerMany audio players have plugins for scrobbling to last.fm and listenbrainz, but only some support custom URLs.
Please comment your favourite #scrobbobbling apps!

Well that was a fun day!
#MRIscan of my head in the morning, followed by trying to figure out https://www.slicer.org/ to make sense of the different scan series.
And #TIL about the DICOM standard: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DICOM
Also, neither a tumour nor other anomalies could be found which is definitely a plus!

Well, we only really had the idea last Friday 😄
I think it has potential as yet another light-hearted way to promote indie musicians and platforms.
Just hearing the feedback to this page from people who haven't come across either #Faircamp, #JamCoop or #Mirlo shows there is definitely a need to promote these and any other #BandcampAlternatives and #SpotifyAlternatives!
Plus plainly we need to persistently plug #RadioFreeFedi, a platform with peerless promotion potential!

Yay, I found a short clip of me playing my favourite game of my childhood about 40 years later (and a lot worse than back then):
-
And here's a bonus #SilentSunday picture from when we finished today's #OliveHarvest stint.
-
We've got about 50 Trees, spread between 4 sites, and they are also pretty variable, but on average we get somewhere between 600-800l oil.
For the pressing we go to a commercial oil mill, but our olives are processed separately from other people's, so we can guarantee the oil is ours (at many other mills here that's not the case).
-
Right now I can only offer a picture from last year. That oil was never quite as green as this year's, but equally cloudy.
We don't filter out the particles, but just let them sink to the bottom of the stainless steel container we use to fill our bottles and use the sediment ourselves as, while not as pretty, it is actually very tasty.
There is no clear consensus what's better - filtered oil does tend to be more stable, so most large producers use...

Wow, this is very cool, and there is some wonderfully weird time signatures on at least one of the other tracks too.
I instantly had to bag myself this amazing EP.
Also, I really want to attend a Prog Ceilidh now - that sounds like a lot of fun!

Ooh, I was just looking for a video showcasing the #Ensoniq Mirage #sampler's glorious two digit 7-segment display one had to use for editing the samples, and the only decent (and super detailed and informative) one is by no other than @gwEm !
Great video - the demo track really makes me want to get it set up again, once I manage to get a similar disk drive replacement and find an OS for the sampler (the OS was loaded from a DD 3.5" Floppy disk).
