If anyone is wondering how to scrobble, either to Last.fm, GNU/Libre.fm (although that's being rebuilt as https://github.com/foocorp/hacienda ), #ListenBrainz or #Maloja, I can recommend

Many audio players have plugins for scrobbling to last.fm and listenbrainz, but only some support custom URLs.
