Of all the services I've run via my vps, my maloja instance for music scrobbling is the only one that has gotten absolutely clobbered by scraping bots.
Which is weird to me. I'm struggling to understand the point. My personal stats aren't especially interesting or useful, and the assets used on the page all come from another (publicly available) database like musicbrainz that, I assume, would be much easier to query directly.
I just pulled it down because I don't want to bother figuring out a fix at this exact moment and it was making everything else slow or inaccessible. Need to do more reading to figure out best practices in filtering out those attacks.

As I've been falling behind on my goal to reach 15.000 #scrobbles this year, I've improved my #scrobble stats script with another "dynamic target" column next to the existing one for the "static target", showing me how much I need to scrobble per period in order to reach the goal for the year. While I was at it, I also added a "compared to: recently" section in the bottom, comparing current numbers to recent similar periods (e.g. this week vs last week).

An Tag 4 meiner #Radtour durch die #Alpen sollte es 95 km bis zur #Inn -Quelle in #Maloja gehen, aber da musste ich meinen Plan ändern. Das Höhenprofil zeigt: Die extrem steilen Anstiege gleich zu Beginn waren mit Gepäck zu viel. Habe viel Zeit mit Schieben verloren und als nach 67 km noch Regen einsetzte, war der Spaß weg und ich habe den Rest mit der #RhätischeBahn gemacht. Obwohl es ab da viel flacher wurde.
Ein hartnäckig niedriger BZ hat meine Laune nicht verbessert. Die Landschaft schon. -

Der Pass #Lunghin auf 2644 m ü.M. ist ein Gebirgspass im Kanton #Graubünden in der #Schweiz und hat als Schnittpunkt dreier kontinentaler #Wasserscheiden eine besondere geografische Bedeutung.
Übrigens sehr schön da oben — tolle Wanderung von #Maloja nach #Bivio, die über diesen Pass und den Pass Septimer, eine frühere Schmugglerroute, führt. (Foto von 2009) #wandern

I've used LibreFM: (You need to join a waiting list and then wait a fortnight for the creator to send you registration details. The interface is very simple, and there are hardly any tutorials. At first, I was trying to figure out how to connect Spotify like on last.fm, only to realise later that you have to use the WebScrobbler extension);
ListenBrainz: (Probably Last.fm's biggest rival? A while ago it seems the CEO founder passed away; it's driven by the open-source community, but the API rate limits are quite strict! For example, using multi-scrobbler to sync a massive amount of records from last.fm will crazily throw 429 errors);
Maloja: (Self-hosted, but the data source is synced over via multi-scrobbler, which means I'm still using Last.fm, just with a different front-end UI.
