Looks like China wants to have Taiwan sooner than later. That increases the chances of seeing blockades with no more chips coming from Taiwan and an unstable situation for the time to come. We are coming closer to #TheITCollapse again, because there still isn’t a significant enough chip production in the EU. We need hard- and software made and hosted in the EU.

Dear openSUSE folks, I don't remember how the promotion workflow looks like in this case. Would this go to backports first? Would be cool if somebody could open an SR. The version from devel:languages:go seems to be working flawlessly with Leap 15.5.

Moto Tag 2. Najlepszy „AirTag dla Androida” zyskał supermoce (i Bluetooth 6.0)

Użytkownicy Androida długo zazdrościli sadownikom AirTaga. Aż pojawiła się Motorola i zrobiła to samo, tylko dla ekosystemu Google.

Na CES 2026 pokazano drugą generację Moto Taga. Wygląda tak samo (i bardzo dobrze!), ale w środku to zupełnie nowa bestia.

Jeśli coś działa, nie zmieniaj kształtu

Największą zaletą pierwszej generacji było to, że Motorola bezwstydnie skopiowała wymiary AirTaga. Moto Tag 2 kontynuuje tę tradycję. Dzięki temu pastylka pasuje do milionów breloczków, pasków i uchwytów zaprojektowanych dla lokalizatora Apple. Nie trzeba kupować drogich, dedykowanych akcesoriów – wystarczy te, które leżą w każdym elektromarkecie.

Został też wielofunkcyjny przycisk na obudowie, który służy nie tylko do parowania, ale działa jako pilot do aparatu w telefonie (zdalny spust migawki) lub pozwala wywołać dzwonienie zgubionego smartfona.

Bluetooth 6.0 i precyzja co do centymetra

Największą nowością technologiczną jest obsługa standardu Bluetooth 6.0 z funkcją „Channel Sounding”. W połączeniu z technologią UWB (Ultra-Wideband), ma to zapewnić niespotykaną dotąd precyzję w namierzaniu zguby wewnątrz budynków.

Jest jednak haczyk: aby skorzystać z dobrodziejstw Bluetooth 6.0, potrzebny będzie smartfon obsługujący ten standard oraz system Android 16. Na ten moment lista kompatybilnych urządzeń jest krótka (m.in. Pixel 10), ale to inwestycja w przyszłość.

500 dni na baterii

Motorola poprawiła też zarządzanie energią. Moto Tag 2 ma działać na jednej baterii (standardowa „pastylka” CR2032) aż 500 dni. To solidny skok w porównaniu do roku w poprzednim modelu i konkurencji od Apple.

Zwiększono również odporność na żywioły – certyfikat podbito do IP68 (wcześniej IP67), więc pełne zanurzenie w wodzie czy błocie nie powinno zrobić na nim wrażenia.

Premiera rynkowa zaplanowana jest na nadchodzące miesiące. Dostępny będzie m.in. nowy kolor „Laurel Oak” (beżowy).
