The economics of starting a VHS distribution label almost make sense, really, and I bet I know enough weirdos from the #monsterdon community and associated communities that I could find some folks who would be pretty damn excited about the obscure releases we could put out.
Maybe offer a USB Video Disc option for people who don't want a VHS (and a como USB/VHS pack for people who want the tape but also want the good looking copy?)
Between films that are unambiguously in the US public domain and films that are *probably* in the US public domain, but nobody has been able to prove it one way or the other, I could easily put together a few dozen obscure releases that most folks haven't seen.
And that's without getting into the indie filmmakers I know who would probably want in.

Hey, everyone, is it good that Anthropic has a recorded net loss of 80.7 billion dollars in the first half of 2026, about twice the net loss of the *entire* 2025?
I feel like an ever-increasing loss is a bad thing for a company, but I'm not a financial specialist, so who knows, maybe it's good. It is, after all, a line that's going up.

Okay, friends, we don't need smarter and faster LLMs. We don't need better harnesses. We don't need to produce more code.
Review is the bottleneck.
We need to improve and simplify the languages, system APIs, review and verification processes.
We always needed better foundations, but today those issues shines like diamonds in the sun.
And I bet that "AI" won't magically solve it for us.

Went into an Apple store this morning and played with the iPhone Duo. It's annoyingly nice.
I've been reconsidering my phone options moving forward. I honestly don't know if I want to re-engage with technology or move further away from it. But the Duo hits all the right 'cool gadget' notes.
Weirdly, at least from my playtime in the store, I feel the Duo was more comfortable than the iPhone 18 Pro to hold. It's heavier, but my hands just seem to prefer the wider folded Duo.

As of Sept. 19, police data showed there had been 23 reported fatal collisions, a 77 per cent uptick from last September.
While Ottawa police told CBC the number of overall collisions as of Sept. 19 has remained similar to last year, they believe distracted driving is behind the increase in deaths. (Data including October's crashes is not yet available, they added.)
Callaghan said he recently pulled over a distracted driver who was watching Buffalo Bills highlights behind the wheel.

In September, the Ottawa Police Service released year-to-date traffic and road safety statistics. There were 23 recorded fatal collisions as of Sept. 19.
That number has since increased to 32, with two more deaths in the past week. It's the most casualties Ottawa has recorded on its roads in more than a decade.

Woah, the Unix is so cursed. I'm suprised how the applications and kernels still work somehow with all that dup2, fd's, fork-child-exec-and-whatnot crap under the hood.
It's so overcomplicated, It's so brittle. It's a torture, not a programming.
Yeah, you can guess that I'm reviewing some Scheme code with these tasty Unix APIs calls.

Somehow I missed that there is a marathon in Valencia today. Anyway, I went on a relaxed run to Paterna and back yesterday. Weather was lovely, and I took many pictures.
