The Ottawa Hospital spends (tens of?) millions of dollars on a parking garage for cars at their new site, then throws down literally the cheapest bike racks you can buy (and which can be disassembled with hand tools!)

The city spent so much money on a fancy LRT system forcing a hub and spoke transit system upon us, to force the civil servants take the LRT whether they wanted to or not. Of course, other solutions such as WFH are verbotten because of this large investment. This has been taken to ridiculous extremes such as making bus routes detour out of a grid system adds minutes to an already long commute e.g.. #11 detours twice to make it to Tunneys and then to Bayview.

Just another day in the great city of #Autowa. At this same intersection, I almost got run down by a driver in a slip lane that was following the #Ottawa traffic rule, "If I don't look at you, you don't exist."

Please Ottawa, with our mayoral race, you know what to do. Pretty please? Anyone but Sutcliffe.

How would you like to have a #Mastodon of Ottawa meet-up on Saturday, May 30th, with a rain day of Sunday the 31st?

Location: I wanted something outdoors, with shade, picnic tables, easy access via LRT, bike paths, and parking for #AutoWa users.

This person was struck and killed by a motor vehicle which was ostensibly under the "control" of another person.

#Autowa drivers be careful out there. Coming down the hill on Bronson towards Albert there was a car facing the wrong way on the sidewalk, I myself lost traction briefly while braking, and the car behind me also spun out.

I was almost hit by a car making a left turn into my crosswalk. I was crossing at an intersection, in a crosswalk, on my light.

If I had not been watching the vehicle travelling at speed making a left hand turn into my crosswalk I would be either dead or in an ambulance

I had to JUMP to get out of the way.

The driver, too late,realized and looked shocked.
