Here are a couple of frame-grabs from last night's NCC (National Capital Commission) BikeNite event that we last-minute attended.
I miss the critical mass rides that seem to have vanished. Apparently some cities do that kind of thing every month. A good goal for our city to try.

Today, Ottawa City council discusses the Gladstone - Gilmour bikeway between the Trillium pathway and the canal. It consists of a short stretch of protected cycling infra structure, painted bike lanes and residential roads and includes two future protected intersections.

Last week I cycled out to Westboro to see the new intersection with a new multi use pathway on Richmond Rd and Golden Ave. I was surprised to see the half finished site had been abandoned. Here's the story.

The Ottawa Hospital spends (tens of?) millions of dollars on a parking garage for cars at their new site, then throws down literally the cheapest bike racks you can buy (and which can be disassembled with hand tools!)

Change of venue for a walk this morning. Did a short loop, just under 4km, thru Ottawa's Centrepointe park and extended over to Craig Henry park, under the train tracks.
There's very little that goes across that rail corridor, making for a huge inconvenience to walkers and cyclists, forced to use Merivale, Woodroofe, or Greenbank.
For the relatively minor effort of a couple of more underpasses, a myriad of other self-propelled routes could be enabled.
