*Captain Underpants: The Epic First Movie* (2017).
Just as immature as the title suggests, yet so imbued with childlike glee that it's hard to dislike. It embodies the comics designed by its young protagonists, from the art style and energised animation to the mostly crude but sometimes genuinely funny jokes… and, unfortunately, some blatant lapses in logic.
My rating: 55%. -

Next in my #Dreamworks marathon is *The Boss Baby 2*. But first, here's my review of the original, which I've seen before.
*The Boss Baby* (2017).
It's a theoretically funny idea, and I love the mix of art styles during Tim's fantasies. But once the main conflict's introduced – puppies stealing babies' attention and love – it becomes too silly to be funny. Therefore, while it sometimes makes good use of established plot elements, it's never fully captivating.
My rating: 50%. -
Next in my #DreamWorks marathon is the *Trolls* trilogy. Once again, I've seen the first movie before, but the sequels were new to me. I'll attach my reviews of all three as replies here.

*Penguins of Madagascar* (2014).
It has its moments, like recurring puns involving Dave's henchmen's names, but it continues the *Madagascar 3* trend of being too insane for its own good. I can accept the animals using and even repairing machines, but high-tech gadgets, buildings and an advanced secret agency is officially going too far.
My rating: 35%. -
*Mr Peabody & Sherman* (2014).
I haven't seen the show, but quite enjoyed this movie regardless. The jokes are consistently funny, while the dramatic moments are standard but tolerable, except for a pivotal scene that feels *very* forced. The opening, I assume, summarises a typical episode of the show, and the climax is a blast.
My rating: 65%. -
*Turbo* (2013).
It's mostly just dull, with bland characters and an unremarkable message. Aside from the ridiculous premise, there are some notably stupid moments, like Theo's speed and other car-like abilities coming from simple nitrous oxide, and it's so ham-fisted with its message that Theo and Tito's brothers are brutally, unreasonably discouraging.
My rating: 35%. -

Next on my #Dreamworks marathon is the recent *Megamind* sequel. But first, here's my review of the original, which I've seen before.
*Megamind* (2010).
What starts as a superhero parody becomes something else entirely. Analysing what makes a hero or villain is not a novel idea, but it really works here because of how much you like and understand the characters. It's well written, funny, and satirising society's expectations is part of the story.
My rating: 80%. -

*Monsters vs. Aliens* (2009).
I like how all the main cast is inspired by 1950s movie monsters, and there are a few scattered laughs (mostly from quick references), but the characters are pretty bland, therefore so's the movie. Gallaxhar is a pathetic loser but also supposed to be a credible threat; it doesn't work.
My rating: 55%. -
*Bee Movie* (2007).
An unbearably stupid premise, although not at first. It starts out pretty strong, with a barrage of genuinely funny puns and brilliant flying shots that emphasise the bees' speed. But once Barry engages with the human world, it immediately plummets downhill; everything that follows is too absurd to be funny.
My rating: 35%. -

I'm deepcleaning, and found the storycard set from IKEA's line LATTJO. It was probably not a success since the first time I encountered it was in the clearance bin. I like the style, so I've hung on to the set through the years. But the most remarkable about it is that it's a joint Rights Reserved between IKEA and _Dreamworks_. Usually the furniture behemot uses individual designers (in-house or freelancers) so _I have questions!_ Anyone here who knows anything?
