It depends a lot on what you are looking for and size and ages of your party - #peace and #quiet, #birdwatching, #angling, #pubs, #nightclubs?
Recommending places to #moor is difficult, particularly at the height of the season. If you want to eat at a pub/restaurant, most #riverside places will allow to to book a mooring, if they have any available, along with a table. If booking a mooring isn't available, then I'd arriving at the site between 15:00-16:00 even if you don't plan to eat till 20:00.
As for deciding where to visit, the #BroadsAuthority #Visitor page is at:
https://www.broads-authority.gov.uk/visiting
It includes a link to its own visitor magazine, "Broadcaster" at:
https://issuu.com/countrywidepublications1/docs/broadcaster_2024_issuu
(Currently last year's issue. I think it will be updated before Easter.)1/?

@mlanger
I said the same about his voice at the time when watching the opening ceremony at the #2012Olympics! -
Oops! my server went off line for a period. Perhaps, I missed a maintenance announcement? Hence my delay in reporting the continuing story of tonight's visit by a #heron outside our lounge.
As #sunset began to change the light #tuftedducks and #mallard gathered on the lake behind the heron.
I went to transfer the photos to my computer only to have Diana reporting that now three #muntjac #deer had crossed from the neighbour's field and joined the party.

The day after we arrived at #PrestonBrook I managed to rebuild all the furniture we'd taken to the #cottage
By the end of the next day, we'd done some more #IKEA #shopping and there was a single bed in the second bedroom.

I've been a bit quiet as we've been away. This was the car just before we left for a #cottage at #PrestonBrook fronting the #towpath on the #Bridgewater #canal.
There's deconstructed #Ikea and #wayfair furniture in there as the place needed to be furnished.

I thought about things Diana shows me on her Facebook account. It seems it frequently feeds her images from a while ago, so I thought I might try tooting old images from our web site
Here's am image from yesterday #10yearsago. Back then every few days I took a photo from our bedroom window. The idea was to build a #library of images that would show the changing #seasons from year to year. I'd post a group of images at the end of each month on what was then, #myblog. See:

Well, we lived with the stock of #leaves by the front door for a while.
On Thursday #thisweek I finally made the effort to collect them and put them in the #compost cages along with other leaves found on the #paths around the #grounds.
The #lake maintenance #boat was also emptied of rain water. It was the first time I had let it get filled to overflowing.

@PKYo
Nothing like that here in #Norfolk, but I did finally get round to my attempt at #winterising our #boat as reported at

Oops! Somehow the original version of this toot got posted as a reply to a completely different topic. Apologies if you've seen it before.
Just watching this #report of the #Bridgewater #Canal #breach that occurred this morning.

I don't think I shared this image, taken 24 #November, when I thought I'd finished #clearing the #birch and #sycamore #leaves from the trees around the front of the #house.
Going out tonight I #discovered a host of #oak leaves that have been #blown in by the #wind. Heaven alone knows where they are from.
Looks like there's more to add to the #compost bins.

@Nina_cried
Well, I've often wondered if what we see out there beyond our #earthly #sky are just the the #subatomic #particles of some bigger #universe that is in fact our own. In other words we exist in some #multi-dimensional inversion of the sub-atomic particles that our physicists talk about in #quantum #theory.I must get round to reading A Brief History Of Time and sort this all out for everybody.

Meant to include photos of our other #compost bins, made of old #pallets picked up from our local #garden #centre
These tend to take everything other than the #autumn #leaf drop. They're a favourite place to find #grass #snake #eggs if I turn them too soon.
Trouble with pallets is that they compost too, at an amazing rate. The remains get piled up elsewhere as a #winter #home for other small #creatures.
