The tar command is famously hard to use.
To create a tarball, remember "Create A File":
tar -caf my_archive.tar.gz file1.txt file2.png
To extract a tarball, remember "eXtract A File":
tar -xaf my_archive.tar.gz
(This works great on Linux. On macOS and some other systems, the -a flag causes problems during extraction—use -xf instead.)

Over the holidays, I watched more TV than usual due to my recent ski injury. One of the new shows that I found was "Life Below Zero", which follows the day to day challenges that a handful of native Alaskans encounter. As a big fan of the Alone series, I liked watching this show to see what it would take to permanently make a home in a challenging environment like Alaska. Most of the seasons are available on #disneyplus

Had my first #raisingcanes experience today. I found the chicken fingers to be cooked well and of high quality, but very bland. The canes sauce seemed like a mix of ranch and ketchup, and made the fingers taste good. Bonus, the sauce is great with raw green peppers!

Great to see local #Chicago reporter Mina Bloom writing a story about the beloved "sausage lady" of #LoganSquare, who has grilled on the sidewalk for the latenight Milwaukee Ave crowd for many years. I've eaten more Polish sausages from her grill than I care to acknowledge, and am happy to be able to help her out in a time of need via GoFundMe.

Went to see a showing of #hailtothethief #hamlet in #ManchesterUK yesterday. The show did not disappoint! Acting was top notch, ambience was on point, and the music was predictably great. Some of the Shakespearean prose was a bit hard to follow, so I'm planning to read the original Hamlet to catch up on what I missed! #radiohead
