  5. Any folks around use #Yazi terminal file manager? I'm struggling to figure this out. I have neovim set as my default text editor and that works fine. I have meh configured as my image viewer. For CSV files, I'd like to add an entry for LibreOffice to the Open With menu, but I can't seem to get it. I can add the following prepend rule and it will open csv files with LibreOffice by default, is there a way to just add it to the Open With menu?

  6. GUIs are very nice yes, but nothing makes you feel quite as powerful as a successfully chained command line pipeline.

For example, taking a massive log file and filtering it through cat | grep | awk | sort | uniq -c to find the exact problem in seconds is a form of wizardry that modern UI simply cannot replicate.

Sometimes I believe the pipe | might be the single greatest invention in computing history lol 😋

  13. …Addendum: perhaps Branch are using developers.thegreenwebfoundati from #greenwebfoundation for their grid intensity detection.

Still trying to track down their unicode technique for downsizing of images and video 🤔

Hi @hanopcan, can you shed any light on the unicode thing for me?

  14. @mhd I was quite fond of Amiga #CLI syntax, which many did not consider a proper #Amiga subsystem because of #BCPL, but it allowed commands to pre-declare the arguments in a uniform, documented way similar to Python’s #argparse.

It’s actually handled by BCPL’s rdargs() function, documented in cl.cam.ac.uk/~mr10/bcplman.pdf (p68).
