Some of my favorite software, swayimg, yazi, nvim use lua for their configurations. I've been trying to understand it consciously, rather than just copy-pasting snippets from others.

There’s life beyond VSCode… thought I’d share my dev setup:

• Main monitor: WezTerm¹ running in a three (sometimes four)-way split with Helix Editor² as my main editor, a terminal pane for general commands while working, and Yazi³ usually running in another for working with files/directories in a project.

• Other monitor: Sublime Merge⁴ always running full-screen so I can immediately see exactly what I’ve changed (in real time) as I’m working.

Others (not shown): Browser(s) on a third screen and my laptop’s monitor as a fourth screen sometimes for other apps (read: distractions) :)

Any folks around use #Yazi terminal file manager? I'm struggling to figure this out. I have neovim set as my default text editor and that works fine. I have meh configured as my image viewer. For CSV files, I'd like to add an entry for LibreOffice to the Open With menu, but I can't seem to get it. I can add the following prepend rule and it will open csv files with LibreOffice by default, is there a way to just add it to the Open With menu?

I just discovered the rabbit hole of terminal file manager. (For now) I‘m using yazi (https://yazi-rs.github.io).

#yazi is a terminal file manager, which is both simple (if you're into that kind of things - you like vim, right?) and efficient.

- jump directly to usual folders with zoxide integration
- jump to a file based on partial name matching with just g-H
- search for files super fast with ripgrep and fd integration
- simple multi tab concept, open a new tab with t
- multi-select using vim concepts, or simply pressing space; copy, cut, paste, rename... Easily

Use stable version, plugins will complain about it being outdated. Use nightly version, it will complain about plugins being outdated. #yazi

I saw a YT clip about Kitty, which is an alternative to Alacritty (the default terminal in Omarchy), and I have to say it is really nice in Kitty as it runs off the GPU. This means it can show me previews of images right there in the TUI.

Found out about #yazi and kind of in love. It's simple enough. No fluff and can do operations with #vi keybindings. Absolute joy. 😄

Honestly, I don't know why I haven't been trying #TUI file managers. I'm like 99.9999% in the terminal. 😅

I've just switched from #Ranger to #Yazi as my file manager. Yazi is faster, and the image preview works straight away, even in #Wayland. It also supports Zoxide and Fzf. Quite happy with it.
