AI does not stall in the model. It stalls in the operating model.
Today's models are capable. The bottleneck is process and governance.
What moves the needle: feedback loops, governance, metrics, decision cadence, supported by platform engineering.
Not a strategy. An operating model.
From May 2026, I take this on as Chief AI Officer at Zühlke.

The only thing "right" about testing late is how wrong it always goes.
In "The Cybernetic Enterprise" I explain why Shift Left is essential: move testing, security, and validation to the beginning, not the end.
With AI generating code faster than ever, automated tests and security checks are the only way to keep quality intact.
Shift Left is not a testing strategy. It is a survival strategy.

Most organisations are agile, use the cloud, invest in AI. Yet the business impact doesn't show up.
Because DevOps isn't a toolset. It's a leadership discipline.
I teach in the CAS DevOps Leadership at Hochschule Luzern. Platform Engineering, DevSecOps, org design, high-performing teams - taught by practitioners.
Starts April 2026:

Just kicked off the 3rd edition of the CAS Enterprise Architecture at HSLU with co-lead Dietmar Wettach and 15 great participants!
Big evolution this time: AI is now a core part of the curriculum. Because EA without AI strategy is incomplete.
Three cohorts in, the energy keeps growing.
Next cohort starts autumn 2026, seats are limited!

In 2023, we said AI would replace developers.
In 2026, it’s clear: AI replaced our illusions instead.AI didn’t delete engineering work — it moved it: review, debugging edge cases, fixing hallucinations, managing risk.
“Vibe coding” demos well. In production it can become a slop layer + technical debt.
AI doesn’t remove engineers. It raises the premium on architecture + accountability.
-
Everyone is talking about AI. But most organisations still struggle with the basics of digital transformation.
AI doesn't replace digital transformation. It makes it more urgent.
I teach in the CAS Digital Transformation at Hochschule Luzern. Strategy, leadership, customer centricity, data, cloud, process automation - all hands-on, taught by practitioners.
-
AI coding agents aren’t “productivity tools”. They’re a cybernetic system.
Tim Kellogg’s “Levels of Agentic Coding” mapped to Stafford Beer’s VSM:
S1 code
S2 coordination (standards/tests/AGENTS.md)
S3 prioritization (backlog)
S4 sensing (prod + customer signals)
S5 policy (values + purpose)People celebrate S1. Orgs break at S2. No S3/S4 without explicit S5.

93/7 is the quiet killer of most AI programs.
Not because the model is weak, because the budget is a lie:
93% tech. 7% people + process.AI doesn’t “plug in.” It collides with decision rights, messy workflows/data, unclear ownership, fear, and no time to learn.
Winners fund capability + operating model. Not demos.
-
AI is accelerating change. Enterprise Architecture is how you stay in control.
On 13 Mar 2026, Dietmar Wettach & I start the 3rd CAS Enterprise Architecture (HSLU). Learn to connect strategy↔IT, cut complexity, strengthen governance—incl. AI day.

Assumptions age like milk — test them before they stink.
Rapid experimentation is a survival skill: fast tests, real data, quick pivots.
It needs psychological safety, feedback loops, honest reflection, and instrumentation.AI spots patterns. It can’t run experiments. That’s on us.

🚨 Autonomous AI is hacking at machine speed — and it’s just starting.
AI agents now rival elite hackers: automating full attack chains in real time.
Malware writes itself. Ransomware iterates. Barriers to entry vanish. But AI can also defend. Bruce Schneier outlines the path to self-healing systems.

🌴👩💻 Prepping my "AI Augmented DevOps" presentation in paradise...
... Not really, I'm on holiday! 🌄 Reality check: those dreamy remote work spots? Often more distraction than focus. 😖
Do scenic spots really mix productivity with paradise, or just look good on social media? What do you think?
